    Bunny dandruff

The verdict is in: Bender has fur mites. I'm really surprised because he didn't show any symptoms except the mild case of dandruff, but I'm really glad that we were able to get a definitive diagnosis. The vetgrabbed a small tuft of fur from Bender's behind (no actual scraping of skin, yay!) and...

    Bunny dandruff

The buns are doing fine; Bender is unchanged with his flaky skin. I'm glad that we're taking him in to get him diagnosed tomorrow. It will feel really good to figure out what's going on. I assume they'll do a skin scraping, which I don't know too much about, but hope it's not too traumatizing...

    Bunny dandruff

Hey all! :) I know I'm pretty quiet on here, especially as of late, but I would really appreciate any insight any of you have about Bender's skin condition. I've already called a local vet and he has an appointment for Friday afternoon, but I would like to get familiar with possible diagnoses...

I vote for "Lily!" ;) Have you decided on a nameyet? She's a cutie -- great addition to your crew!

I'm going to Olive Garden for dinner tonight.

Mmm, Cheesecake Factory! Hubby and I were just there on Wednesday, celebrating our 3-year anniversary! The menu is a little pricey, but it's perfect for a special occasion (not *too* expensive). If two people have normal appetites, you could easily share an entrée because the portions are so...

Oh Ang, I'm so sorry! :( I was wondering when you would get the results. Please keep us updated on Finn and the rest of your crew. ♥

    What breed to choose?

Meeku wrote: My husband and I have 2 Mini Rexes (that we adopted from 2 different shelters, about a month apart) and they're 6 lbs. each (they are not fat/overweight). When we got them, they were already 2 years old, and honestly, I think that's the only way to know for sure how bigarabbit...

    Rex fur

You've gotten lots of great comments from everyone, but I figured I'd go ahead and throw my 2 cents in here too. I really do believe that it depends on the individual bunny as to how they shed and how much they shed. My husband and I have 2 Mini Rexes, both about the same age and nearly the...

    RESOLVED: bite on penis

I sincerely hope Benjamin is OK! tonyshuman wrote: I don't mean to get off-topic, but you may want to wait a little longer after his surgery to start bonding. Although he's neutered, he can stay fertile for up to 6 weeks after the procedure (source). It will also take some time for his...

Questions from a fairly new bunny mom...

waterlilly0212 wrote: It's not that alfalfa pellets are bad, but they have more calories than timothy-based pellets. Timothy-based pellets are more appropriate for adult rabbits, who are full size (no longer growing, therefore don't need the added calories). Everything I know about pellets, I...

    Urine stains

HeatherMarie wrote: For us, we "trance" Lily. She's pretty easy to trance and doesn't seem to mind it. Do you know what trancing is? Here are a couple of sites about it: http://www.mybunnies.com/trance.htm http://www.hopperhome.com/trancing_rabbits.htm Or if you have two people, one can hold...

Moving to Ohio!!! Do you live there?

stargazerLily wrote: Ah yes, Troy! That's where we *finally* found/bought my husband's wedding band! It took us 6 months to find the "right" one! ;) But you're right, it is kind of a drive. If we aren't happy with what's available in Beavercreek though, it's good to know that you're happy with...

    Bio Order

My husband and I looked into this product too, but were told that there was suspicion that this product could lead to kidney problems, so we passed. If it's not entirely safe, I don't trust it.

    Urine stains

We're on 75 nearly the whole trip down there! ;) The movers are coming at the end of this week and we have an extra week after that to get the last of our things moved out ourselves. Moving to Ohio!!! Do you live there?

DH and I (and Bender and Lily, of course!) are moving to the grand state of Ohio next month (yay!!) and thought I would ask for personal recommendations for vets in the area. We're moving to Beavercreek, OH, which is near Dayton, so anything with a 937 area code would be do-able. I've already...

    Some opinions on treats...

Personally, I think that Kaytee's Healthy Toppings are great. Basically, it's just dried fruit, which keeps well, and it's also diced up into tiny portions, which helps us give them sparingly. To me, it doesn't taste like they added sugar and the packaging just lists "dried" papaya/banana/etc...
