I cannot get my rabbit to take his medicine

good news! today when I called her for meds she happily ran and ate it so I didn't even need to find the corner of her mouth. She was abit confused midway but continued licking it . It's 28 days of EC meds actually haha..

I cannot get my rabbit to take his medicine

haha I tried to trick her hoping if she would just "taste" it she will like it which will make medicine time hopefully easier. I rubbed it in her pellet dust, and shoved a few oats in it. She put it in her mouth and spat it out lol and was sooo grossed out. Evertrime banana is near her face she...

I had to give my bun meds for the first time today and the youtube videos are a LIE!! she kept turning her head and wouldn't stay still.. it was a 2 man job, I got my housemate to help hold her, we wrapped her up in a towel and eventually she gave in after a couple of minutes of fighting back...

RABBIT NOT EATING - still nibbling

There is a 24/7 emergency vet downstairs for all animals and upstairs its the "Rabbit Doctors" vet, they are amazing my friend said she also takes her rabbits there and also where the rabbit orphanage recommended me take her.

RABBIT NOT EATING - still nibbling

Went to pick up the EC meds and the vet said they do not recommend Simethicone to any rabbits so.. They are rabbit only veterinarians.

RABBIT NOT EATING - still nibbling

She ate a little more at night and appears to be back to normal (appetite and poop size) the next day, so I did not end up taking her to the vet as I didn't want to stress her out. I tried to look for Simethicone as suggested but can't seem to find it in Australia? could it be called something...

THanks everyone, all her poops are small so I will take her to the vet tomorrow morning, she's eating and drinking slowly but definitely not her usual self. I do not have those gas drops so will pick some up tomorrow.

RABBIT NOT EATING - still nibbling

I woke up late today 12pm, and let her roam for abit, lured her out with fresh grass after an hour to put her back in her pen.. she ate it fine (this is about 5 hrs ago). I left fresh grass on top of her hay back in her pen and when I came back to check on her a few hours later noticed she...

Bun won't submit to me >:(

yep I immediately spray vinegar where she peed and wash. she pees at different places not at the same area. I don't know if it's coz it's painful for her to jump down the bed to go to the loo, or if she's marking :(. She has weak back legs but seems to have no problem jumping ONTO the bed. She...

Bun won't submit to me >:(

she is almost 3 :) she is somewhat litter trained.. but will pee/poop on MY bed and the couch - she was just spayed 4 weeks ago. if I give her pellets she will just be busy eating with her head down, would she even notice she is being submissive if I my hand's on her head haha.

Bun won't submit to me >:(

Hi All, I've read a few posts about rabbit dominant behaviour if the buns let you/buns hold their head down to show they are being submissive. My housemate was just petting her normally before and I noticed she had her head down in a submissive way. I tried to pet her later and hold her head...

    Too skinny? boney

Hi, I can't tell as that is a different breed? she looks between a thin-ideal shape.

    Too skinny? boney

she's almost 3 years old. Her diet is unlimited oat hay (only ones we have in Aus), 1.5 cups of veggies (celery/kale/endive/fresh grass/mint), 1 Tbs of pellets as a treat the orphanage gave me (will stop these when it finishes) and 1pc (dried carrot) before I leave her to go to bed.

    Too skinny? boney

I think my rabbit may be too skinny from her neck>spine I can feel 2 sharp pointy bones very easily and all her spine all the way through, my friend who also has a rabbit (big lop) said she feels boney, I've looked after her rabbit before and don't remember feeling that much spine when petting...
