5mo bun behaving oddly. Help please

My rabbit refused hay when we rescued him 18 months ago and all he eats now is softened pellets and a couple of grapes each day. But he is around 10 and had hardly any teeth left. Rabbits can survive without hay. But the pellets are the best quality so he’s getting the protein etc.

5mo bun behaving oddly. Help please

There are 2 possible issues here. Stress. Rabbits can get stressed out when they are not in their familiar surroundings and their bonded human is not there to turn to. The stress can cause a rabbit to go off their food. Try soaking his pellets in water as a change only soak for a few seconds...

Any tips for traveling with a bunny ?

I would be wary too about taking him outside because of hawks etc or other dogs from other people. Also if you leave him in the trailer too long will it get too hot for him? You know your bunny best though.

    Fox deterrents

It’s off the ground plus padlocked too with strong mesh. The rabbit won’t see fox at night as we put a Perspex screen in front which you can see in the picture to the right.

    Fox deterrents

Hi all. Just wondered what precautions can be taken to protect rabbits in hutches. We have 3 small doggies but the fox always comes in garden at night leaving his poo behind. My hutch is double meshed and has a heavy large potted plant I put in front of hutch at night.

    Coping with hot weather

Thanks yes today’s going to be hot! I use a spray too on wars which is where they sweat from during heat. I saw an idea about bottles of frozen water put in cage too that they rest against and ceramic tiles are cool too. Sounds like you have two bunnies!

    Coping with hot weather

We are in UK which is really hot at this time around 25+ which is hard for rabbits. I wondered how others cope with this heat and any ideas to help rabbits keep cool. I try bath the ears with a cold damp cloth. I put greens in that had water sprayed on them.
