20-week old rabbit not putting on weight

Does his pellets have enough protein? (I find that at least 16% protein in food works well) And I agree with @heartfeltbunnies , check for worms or signs of worms. If he does have them, get him wormed as soon as possible.

    BREEDERS- Questions!

If the breeder says his father also lost his mane, I would guess the same for him. It's up to you. If you don't have a double maned doe, you might not get babies with enough mane again. The same might also happen to his babies, since the losing the mane seems to be genetic.

    BREEDERS- Questions!

To be honest, I don't know the breed well, but it seems like he might have gone through a molt and it just hasn't grown back. Have you asked the breeder? If the breeder says he will grow his mane back and you believe he is good quality, $75 isn't a bad price. Maybe get a second opinion from...

    Pregnant doe please advice

Keep the nest in, a lot of females don't nest or pull fur until a few hours before labor. Each pregnancy will be different. If she gets over day 35-36 and she is still pregnant, I would recommend taking her to the vet long pregnancy can be dangerous for mom and babies.

    Diarrhea and won’t eat hay

They might just have had a gassy stomach or a stomachache. I would recommend just keeping a close eye on them for a few days. If your noticing they have diarrhea again or are bloated. You can give them baby gas drops or something for stomachaches (people use several different things for...

Cold weather need warm air conditioner?

Rabbits are most comfortable in 60 to 65 degrees Fahrenheit. And can tolerate down to 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Although outdoor rabbits do fine in the winter temperatures, but it sounds like your rabbit are indoor rabbits? If it is cold enough in the room where you need a coat and boots, you...

    Sore hocks?

It might be a callous. But it's kind of hard to tell from that picture. Is the area inflamed (infected)? Does it hurt him when you touch it? If the answers to those questions is yes, then this is the beginning of sore hocks. For treatment this is what I found, this tells you about sore hocks...

    BREEDERS- Questions!

Looks to me that the black steel's ears a little to far apart and are a little big, but I'm also used to Nethies, so it might be okay for a Lionhead lol. But if I had to guess he/she is a false dwarf. You mentioned you might need better stock, which is probably true, the first rabbits you get...

    White standard Rex

I’m not sure if this is what your looking for, but your talking about a pure white rabbit, which probably means they were BEW (blue eyed whites) or REW (ruby eyed whites) it depends on the color eyes they had. I’m not very fluent with Standard Rex colors so I’m not sure if these are hard to...

Do You Have to Tattoo a Rabbit Who is Going to a Show Breeder?

If your selling to a show breeder, they will or can get the rabbit tattooed. But you need to give them a number to put on their ear. So when you give the pedigree, you will have section where you put their ear number, the selection of numbers/letters you picked for the rabbit’s ear. Hope this...

    Bunny Rolling and head tilt

I had a bunny about two years ago who developed a head tilt (caused by a parasite which activated due to ear mites). It helps when you set them on their back and cradle them (like a baby) and relieve the weight on the side the tilt is on. Massaging his neck will also help with the weight relief...

What to Do For a Rabbit Who Has Constant Weepy Eyes

I can’t remember if it helps with weepy eye at the moment (you’d need to read the description of the product), but I used Vetricyn for an eye infection, which worked pretty well. I hear Terramycin works better, but again you’d need to read to see if it helps with weepy eye
