    What breed is my rabbit?

not a Belgian hare at all. He honestly looks like a mix of large breed rabbit (those ears) and something else.. probably a dutch influence in their somewhere. Depending on where you are he could possibly be the OLD dutch breed (not the current variety).

    Rabbits & allergies

there are many people who keep rabbits who don't give them hay. It's not the "Norm" of keeping a pet rabbit, but rabbits are kept world wide and MANY of those people do not have hay readily available to them. Hay is given for the long fibre component. So all you need to do is replace that...

male? could have a grease plug... have fun cleaning that (not). but if male..that's one of the first things to check. Otherwise... I dunno. Check the feet for bumble foot. Teeth for obvious issues (but if eating well probably not that).

    Escaping bunny?? Or my negligence.

rabbits are more capable then you think at escape. I had a buck once who could escape from almost any cage..

    Daily rantadine for gas???

Some rabbits come from lines where they are not fed veggies. They are bred to function well on pellets alone. I have one in my herd that can't do veggies, his breeder FIRMLY believes that feeding veggies to rabbits will kill them..and quite often it does. My mindset is that slow and easy...

    Breeding Undersized Minirex Doe

your buck might have splayed legs. your doe looks good. The size difference isn't bad. It would be good with the buck to know if it's a genetic issue. When breeding rabbits you want to be breeding the healthiest most genetically secure rabbits. Passing on genetic flaws is not a good thing.

    Breeding Undersized Minirex Doe

turn your doe over and see if her feet are V-d. if they are I'd advise you to not breed them. Pelvic narrowness makes it hard for does to kindle easily.

at six months she'll be close to full grown, she should be fine. Now you know for the future eh? wait out the month (probably less) and enjoy the kits.

First time mama throwing babies out of cage!!!

kits can EASILY get through 1 x 1 wire, so 1 x 2 wire would be even easier. :)

    Baby Rabbits (6 Days old)

animal milk replacement doesn't have enough fat. feed them more often (like every hour). Rabbit Formula Recipe 1/2 cup evaporated milk 1/2 cup water 1 egg yolk 1 Tablespoon corn syrup Mix well, heat to body temp. Feed the formula slowly, as rabbits can aspirate easily. DO NOT force the food...

Shelters releasing domestic rabbits in wild??

to prevent them from breeding with each other. Vancouver BC ended up being INDUNDATED with rabbits... damaging buildings, eating plants and just being a horrid (LITERALLY) nuisance. If the initial few had been spayed/neutered the problem would have been greatly decreased. I say spay/neuter...

Rescued rabbit, assumed to be pregnant?

if the baby is 8 weeks old, expect new babies any day now. Just wait it out. no xray needed. Though if she's close and a short haired rabbit you can often see the babies rolling around in the belly the week before they are born.
