Anyone resigned to their white buns never having clean white feet?

I've always stuck with carefresh due to fears of the dust in some other shavings causing respiratory issues. Which types of wood shavings are known to be safe to avoid this issue? (Not sure if I would switch, but just trying to expand my knowledge 😁 )

Someone help me please- bun not eating

Personally, if it were me I would take him to the vet. My last bun had pinworm (did not look like that) but it was a very simple fix of medication the vet prescribed, and after treatment he was as good as new. The stool on the right does not look normal and would definitely be worth taking him...

Anyone resigned to their white buns never having clean white feet?

Yeah I have 2 large cat litterboxes for Dr. Cheese (one in his cage and one for when he's free roaming)and the large amounts of hay and bedding make it wasteful/pointless to change the litter more than 2 times a week. My last bun was much smaller and only had the one litterbox which was...

Someone help me please- bun not eating

What matters most is that you are doing everything you can to help him since noticing the problem. Unfortunately some never notice these problems at all but you were attentive enough to detect something was wrong. :) Keep us posted on his progress/how the vet trip goes!

    The Bunny Fiesta

Omg! This is so cute! My bunny is very sensitive to the foods he eats, but I love this for other buns! My last bunny would have loved this for sure! He basically had an iron stomach and could pretty much eat whatever he wanted. My bun now is mostly restricted to hay, but I still love this for...

    Meet Dr. Cheese!

OMG. I laughed so hard at that name! Both adorable californians with adorable names! She totally looks like Dr. Cheese 😁 . That is such an amazing story! It sounds like a happy ending for everyone :). I don't blame her for her grumpiness in heat 😂 us females gotta stick together. Do you have...

Differences in hay: Specifically for ISC

Thank you so much for your input! I did have him tested for parasites since I had adopted him after having 4 foster homes and a poor living environment to begin with. He tested negative, His vet suggested a blood test if it worsens because she pointed out many rabbits do experience this problem...

    Question about poop

I'd say you shouldn't worry too much as the previous members have responded. You can almost never go wrong with more hay depending on which type you are providing as their general supply, but my last rabbit had way darker poops than my current and was always perfectly healthy (aside from...

Differences in hay: Specifically for ISC

Hello! I've been directed by my vet to switch Dr. Cheese's diet to an all hay diet to help his intermittent soft cecotropes. I figured I would see if there are any recommendations on a better hay for rabbits struggling with this as well as having sensitive digestion in general. Currently he is...

    Meet Dr. Cheese!

I definitely will! I am stuck in the in between of wanting to make sure he feels safe and comfortable in his new home while also knowing practice makes perfect. Just trying to take it slow while also keeping up with it. I appreciate any suggestions as well!

Say hi to the new girl

It must be much more invasive for the spays I can imagine! I've only had boys but I have heard that spaying recovery can be very tough!

Say hi to the new girl

That definitely makes sense! It must've just been that one tech not knowing what she was doing. Maybe she was new to bunnies, but the other vet/technicians should have helped her if that was the case 🤦‍♀️ regardless, good thing you're a good owner and prevented it!

    Meet Dr. Cheese!

I've been posting for a few weeks now but I just realized I never formally introduced my bun! Excuse me if I get too detailed, I am always so overly excited to talk about him 🥰 This is Dr. Cheese! (Informally known as Cheese or Cheesy 😁) The cutest red-eyed Californian around. (He came with the...

Say hi to the new girl

What a beautiful little bun! My mouth actually dropped that they tried to pick her up by the ears  good thing you corrected them quickly. Good luck getting the new pair together, I'm sure Storm will be very happy to have a new buddy once they adjust. :)

    Cecotrope floor marking?

Aww thanks! Yes I'd say he's equal parts sass and love. He is just the friendliest little guy, basically a dog with more attitude :)

    Cecotrope floor marking?

UPDATE ON DR. CHEESE: So I did end up calling my vet because the reduction in pellets hasn't changed a ton with his ISC so she recommended I switch him to an all hay diet. However she mentioned that she is not concerned at this point due to the fact that majority of his cecotropes are being...

    New Holland Lop Bunny

Welcome! Your little bun is so adorable! I based my first rabbit's name off of the book/film Watership Down which is my all time favorite novel and about bunnies! His name was Pipkin, I would try to think of something like that to give it a bit of meaning :) like your favorite book, movie, show...

    Pink slime in water bowl???

I've also purchased just plain cheap toothbrushes to use as little scrubbers and they work really well! I have definitely gone the finger route too, the toothbrush might be easier if you're using soap though!

    Cecotrope floor marking?

I have noticed he does seem to slam down his pellets so I usually will put them in a dispenser toy where he has to work for it more and it helps keep him from eating them all in big bites or I will use the pellets for training and hand feed them in small amounts. :) It would make sense that he...

    Cecotrope floor marking?

Hi again, quick question. You mentioned a salt lick as well as grass hay. Do you think I should change his hay from the western timothy hay to something like an orchard grass hay? I've always used western timothy hay and never had issues, but every rabbit is different. I also know that his...
