    Wrinkley kits????

Haha no worries I was in your same shoes and I always felt like me and my mom (majorv) were always learning even 8 years into it. If they are just for pets I don’t think I would worry about their size. They are just taking on moms smaller frame. As long as they are eating and growing everyday...

    Color Genetics

He is definitely a lionhead. Color is Vienna Harlequin and just to let you guys know this thread is from 2006... The Vienna gene comes from one parent that is a blue eyed white rabbit. If a blue eyed white rabbit breeds with a normal colored rabbit you will get babies with Dutch like markings...

    What breed is my rabbit?

Her color is smoke pearl marten. Since she has proven mini Rex then I would say she is a mix of that. Much more than that I at least can’t tell. Mini Rex come in just about every color you can imagine. She is quite large to be mainly mini Rex as the show weight maxes out at 4.5lbs. I can’t...

Continental Giant bunny looks really small

There are not a lot of people on here that raise continentals. I found an old thread that has some weights in it. It sounds like yours is a little small but he may mature out after a year of age. With large breed anything slow growth is the key. So make sure he’s on a good balanced pellet and...

Buck stops mounting halfway through breeding.

Haha I used to say that my bucks that did this wanted a little bit of a fight from her or to make sure she is into him. I’m definitely being anthropomorphic but that’s how I saw it. There are a few things you can’t try that I’ve done before. Sometimes instead of putting them back together the...

    Wrinkley kits????

Are you breeding these guys for show? If you are trying to meet a certain weight for show and the mother is under the minimum weight for the breed then the father should have been a little bigger to compensate for her smaller frame. If these guys are just for pets then I personally wouldn’t...

What are your favorite rabbit breeds?

I have to say Tans. I love their inquisitive nature and they’re not afraid of anything! Their looks are just a plus! My other favorite breeds are Britannia Petites and French Lops

    What colour are these babies

I would say Lynx for the tan baby

    What color is my bunny?

Is the photo altered or super exposed? It’s hard to tell color I thought frosty as well but the color on the side/flank throws me off

    Disinterested Buck - Tips??

I agree with switching the cages around. People have also suggested looking at the vent. If it’s really red it’s time to breed I didn’t use this too much though. And then some breeders swear by the moon. Also your buns are still younger so breeding may not be on the does minds just yet. Keep...

    Buck or Doe? Please help!

I would say buck. It may start looking more like actual boy parts around 3-4mos of age As far as split ***** I am not sure

    What colour are these babies

Um the photos provided aren’t the best... The first bunny is blue with silver agouti patterns so could be a blue silver marten? The second photo or nestbox photo doesn’t help at all. The other baby is the top tan colored one? I can’t tell at all what it is as only the head is barely showing.

    Is my rabbit pregnant?

Did you already breed her? She’s only four months old at this point I would strongly suggest waiting until at least 6mos of age before breeding her. Young rabbits need to mature sexually yes but more important mentally. If you are breeding her so young you are setting her up to fail as a mother

What colour is this baby mini lop

My guess is going to be lynx. With tan pattern markings it shouldn’t be any shaded colors so not a tort unless the breeder was breeding unshowable rabbits by crossing agouti and shadeds. I was going to guess lynx or opal but opals are darker when born. Lynx should have blue-gray eyes with a...

Wanting a breed to breed for pets with my NZ buck

I’m glad you love him and want to keep him. I just wish your father understood different. There are people who love big rabbits as pets but it’s going to be harder to find them. Make sure you have a way to advertise and don’t price them cheap if you don’t want them to be food. Price alone will...

Wanting a breed to breed for pets with my NZ buck

My mother and I bred and showed rabbits for 8 years and we were always in the red. The only time I made a profit from my bunnies was when I showed them in FFA. I won reserve grand champion and sold them in auction. It was a lot of work but very rewarding. Even people in more popular breeds like...

    What color is this kit?

The darkness around the nose and on the flanks is a giveaway for torts :) she looks like she will be a fluffy little girl lol

my rabbit wont let me cut his nails, its been a long time and its getting problematic!

Do you have another person to help you? If not I wouldn’t recommend flipping him over unless you have a lot of experience with how to hold properly. He could injure his back if not careful. I would recommend using a towel and covering him with it (make sure his head is covered as well). You can...

    Rabbit food for young rabbits

Looking at the ingredients in Manna Pro the Pro formula looks fine for growing rabbits. For lactation it’s a little low in protein but I don’t think that’s a huge issue lactation require 17% and the pro formula has 16%. We mixed two Purina foods for our buns one with 16% and the other with 18%...
