Lump on stomach, and not feeling well?

If you are ever unsure whether your pet needs to see a vet, then the answer should always be yes.

Wild Rabbit with severe eye trauma

Being a vet tech doesn’t make you qualified to diagnose or treat an animal. I would want to find out the reason for all that blood, and I would be really worried that he was hit by a car. Rabbits are very stoical, especially wild rabbits, so you might not realise the pain he is in. He still...

Wild Rabbit with severe eye trauma

You’re not really helping him at all by keeping him with you when you can’t affors proper medical care. Like the others said, see if you can hand him over to someone who can give him the care he needs. If he was on the side of the road he could have any sort of traffic related injury, they would...

    Poopy Chat

In addition to everything said above, my rabbit is a lionhead x lop, with super fluffy paws. I use a bandage (or piece of lace) to poke the nails through and hold the fur back, which makes it a lot easier to visualise the nails and not get fur caught in the clippers.

    Crepuscular?

Agreed it completely depends on your own routine - rabbits are very good at adapting to a routine and actually prefer to have a set time for things like breakfast and bedtime. Following my own routine my bunny is usually up at about 7:30am and we go to bed at about 1am, she used to keep me up...

What do rabbit warts look like. Are they suppose to be white with a spiky growth

Agreed a good picture would be useful, but I would take your rabbit to a vet either way. Any new lumps are always worth checking out early, they might even take a sample to check if it is benign. Basically if you’re worried you need to see a vet

    New bunny playhouse

Next time don’t bother with the duct tape, buns love to chew cardboard and it isn’t too bad for them as long as they don’t eat it in excess, and it would provide and good bit of fun enrichment. Your structure seems fine to me! As long as your bunnies like it that’s what matters.

    Swollen Foot

Was the LA 200 prescribes to you by a vet? I don’t understand why we’d give an antibiotic in this situation.. You would be best to get some metacam from a vet, as not only does it help with pain but it is also anti inflammatory so should help with any swelling. I’m a bit concerned about the fur...

    I have a small question about night-time.

It depends where your bunny would be living. Is it indoors? Just one room or the whole house? Have you bunny proofed the area (blocked off wires etc)? My rabbit doesn’t even have a cage, she has free reign of the house and is an angel even at night.

    Some stupid questions...

Rabbits shouldn’t need bathing at all, they keep themselves very clean. The only time you might need to just wipe them over would be if they have been standing in their urine (which would mean you need more absorptive litter) or not been eating caecotropes and getting a poopy bum, which can...

HELP with sudden behavior change needed!

I wouldn’t use picking him up as a punishment - if anything you should be working on getting him t accept being picked up for times when you need to (e.g. healthcheck, clipping nails, etc) Like blue eyes said, block off the bars with some wood or cardboard and give him something fun inside the...

    Rabbit digging at me.

There was a similar thread very recently that might be worth a read: https://www.rabbitsonline.net/threads/constantly-biting-digging-at-me.93501/

Do I have to neuter my bun?

If he doesn’t have too many adverse behaviours, and you don’t intend to mix him with any other buns, there isn’t too much of a need to get him neutered. The risk of problems with anaesthetic is very low (less than 1%) but if you don’t need to do it then in your case I might be inclined to leave...

Rabbit has poop clumps stuck on his feet!!

I think hay would count as “plants”, as hay often contains seeds, which could be viable if they end up in soil, and many countries don’t want foreign seeds crossing borders (risks of non-native invasive species etc. Depends on the reason for them not being allowed to be sent. Just as a side...

    Rabbit neuter gone wrong

I completely agree from this account it does sound like things were missed that maybe shouldn’t have been, but it’s just worth remembering that what we see as clients is often completely different to what the vet is seeing. You wouldn’t believe how many people call up and say their pet is...

I lost my Oliver, heart shattered

I’m so so sorry for you, he sounds like a fabulous little bun. Don’t beat yourself up, you gave him so much love and care, unfortunately sometimes unavoidable things happen :(

    Rabbit neuter gone wrong

I’m so sorry, that must’ve have been really stressful for both you and your bun. I’m glad to hear he has improved! Has he peed since your last post? How is he doing now? I hope he is healing better. It is a really unfortunate consequence of surgery that sometimes stitches fail, and it doesn’t...

    Keeping different aged rabbits together

The age difference isn't really the issue here. You may find that although they might get on at first, once the baby starts to mature and hits puberty that bond will no longer be stable. Female rabbits can be particularly aggressive, and those female hormones wreak havoc. The best way to ensure...

    Overweight rabbit?

I'm confused, how would locking him in help him lose weight? He will be better off having the space to run around and burn off that fat. What treats do your parents give him? If you cant stop them giving treats, could you encourage them to use a healthier alternative? For example, they could...
