    Tooth root problems (elongated teeth/abscess)

So sorry about the problems and the price !! I had a Holland lop with problems similar to Flick's bunny, Stella, in the video. It was not a one time surgery ; he needed on-going treatment for malocclusion and periodontal disease. I would discuss with your vet what the future might hold for...

I have been ordering 3rd cut timothy hay in bulk from Kleenmama's for awhile now but since they are presently out of it for the season I am wondering if anyone has been ordering Oxbow orchard grass and/or Oxbow 2nd cut Western timothy from Dr. Foster and Smith (in bulk)?. What is the hay...

    Ned has another ear infection!

:hug2:You have taken excellent care of Ned and he has been outside a lot during his life and he has had a very wonderful life with you. I guess the more we love something the more we think of all the small things that we could of, or still want to do. This is a really hard time for you so...

    rabbit pee color - RIP

Did you notice that there are very tiny dark specks in the urine? It looks like it in the photo and am wondering if this could indicate clots? Here is the HRS article on red urine. http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=18+1803&aid=2839 http://www.rabbit.org/journal/3-1/red-urine.html...

    Unknown fungal infection.

I would thing the vet could biopsy one of the lesions and send it out for pathology. I don't know what it is but maybe a fibroma virus ( just a guess); actually it also sort of looks like rabbit sypllis but not typical....

    Bicillin Injections for Internal Abscess?

He live for under 6 months after diagnosis . They were able to tell by the cell type of the cancer that it was very aggessive and would return. After the first surgery the 2nd tumor started to regrow almost immediately in the exact same place that it was removed..but like I said before he didn't...

What to do with a healthy bonded rabbit when his buddy is being put to sleep.

Oh I am so very sorry !!!!!:bigtears: RIP Alaska. It is hard enough to lose your bun but it is the very hardest and most heartbreaking to see the grieving bun partner. On an lighter note I have buns that recovered so well from losing a mate that it made me irritated at the remaining bun...

    Bicillin Injections for Internal Abscess?

I would ask to talk directly to the vet or set up an an appointment specifically to talk to him . It sounds like the masses are tumors rather than abscesses?? I had a Holland lop who had a growth on his abdomen. It had irregular borders and looked cancerous; I had it removed and was told it was...

pollys not acting normal and didnt eat much

Maybe brush them really well. I have become really diligent about brushing my rabbits probably because I just can't stand stasis... and remember that it is really hay that moves the GI contents through the GI tracts. Veggies do not provide the same roughage to rabbits that they do to humans...

    Chance

That probably is a wise idea... you could get Himalayans at another time and maybe work out another area where you could house a few more rabbits. :feelbetter:

    Chance

No they would need to be separated . Even the 4 month old does will begin to get hormonal and territorial with each other over the next few months. So you need to plan that you may possibly have 5 cages and without spaying all of them you most likely will be keeping 5 cages. An un spayed...

    Please help fix Karma

The articles that JBun gave you are excellent resources . It is often difficult to determine whether a rabbit has EC or an inner ear infection, however, English lops are notorious for getting difficult to resolve ear infections because the length of the ears provide a perfect place for...

New to rabbitsonline....my bunny isnt acting like himself

I didn't read that he has any symptoms related to a URI or pneumonia?? is he sneezing, snotty or wheezing? Does he have any nasal or eye discharge. is he breathing heavily? He may have been stressed out by the bath and he does definitely have GI issues going on. Bathing a rabbit doesn't...

    [HELP] rabbit's mouth/nose swollen

I agree that there is no way that you can let this go as it will only become increasingly worse. As JBun stated many vets will work out a payment plan with a client especially if there is a serious problem. Please take her to a vet. :(

    Wounded Rabbit

The problem with liquid bandages is that they burn intensely when initially applied and the rabbit would need to be restrained for the period of time that it takes to dry. A rabbit also may chew off the protective coating Some folks have used these products for sore hocks including myself. I...

pollys not acting normal and didnt eat much

Mineral oil is an "old school" treatment for GI stasis. In addition to what Claire has related it is very, very easy for a rabbit to aspirate mineral oil when it is administered.... "a terrible way for a rabbit to die." stated Pam Nock ( ARBA judge) and RO mod It WAS a treatment many years ago...
