    Vaccines?

In the UK Nobivac Myxo RHD Plus is used. They need to be vaccinated yearly. He needs to be vaccinated even if he is 100% indoors. The vaccine is very safe. It takes 2-3 weeks for immunity to develop. Find a good rabbit vet here: Rabbit Friendly Vet List Harnesses are not recommended. Most...

    Bonding with your bunnies

They're cute! I would cover the top and the door of the cage with mats, you don't want those paws to get trapped, that can cause some very nasty injuries.

My best friend Jasper died today

I am so terribly sorry for your loss, we know how much you loved the little dude. I don't believe he was over-medicated, those are the types of medications I would expect and it is very likely he was not in pain given the buprenorphine, if that's any consolation although I know nothing is during...

Female Bunny not eating pellets, losing weight.

I am passing on advice from our vet who teaches rabbit medicine at one of the best vet schools in the world. Think of pellets as treats.

Female Bunny not eating pellets, losing weight.

They sometimes go off pellets. As long as they are still eating lots of hay I wouldn't worry too much. Have you tried a new bag of pellets? They do go stale. Or you could slowly switch her to different pellets?

    Baby rabbit with excess cecotropes

No oats! Just a small amount of pellets and lots and lots of grass hay.

Female Bunny not eating pellets, losing weight.

How much pellets are you feeding? They should not get more than 1 tbsp a day. If she is eating lots of hay I really would not worry and I would not syringe feed. The weight loss is not that big. Perhaps slowly add some veg to the diet. On the basis of the blood results you have given I would not...

Abby was spayed today, so far, so good

A 2lb bunny should get about 0.4ml. meloxicam (15mg/ml. strength) twice a day. It really annoys me that vets are still under-prescribing pain relief after a spay. It's cruel.

Sleep tight pinkie. (Helps for her bonded rabbit)

So sorry for your loss. Probably the best thing you can do for your bunny is to look for a rescue centre where they have several singles and have him pick out a mate. With any luck, the rescue will bond them for you.

    Should I get another bunny?

Don't buy another bunny. Get your bunny spayed first, wait 8 weeks, then try to find a neutered male friend in a rescue centre.

Don't use chicken wire - dangerous. Use welded mesh instead.

rabbit threat bites when my hand is near his side

Are you able to go up to him without him running away? Are you able to pet his head? Could you not gradually desensitise him by petting him and slowly start touching different parts of his body?

Are pet strollers/Pet car seats worth the money?

Most bunnies hate being taken out of their familiar environment and get very stressed which is often not noticed by their (inexperienced) parents until the bunny gets ill. There is nothing in it for them to be taken to stores, etc. The only use I can think of for a pet stroller is for transport...

Rabbit in heat? Or angry at me? | Please give me suggestions!

She did not hurt you intentionally. Aggression is almost always due to fear or a medical issue. It could also be referred aggression in this case as you brought in another bunny. Have them both neutered and bond them 8 weeks after?

Need advice re: litter box issues, dirty bum, and how to bond with new buns

Poopy butt is almost always diet related. Keep on a hay only diet (nothing else at all) for at least a couple of weeks. Then gradually add in a tiny bit of other food. Wait two weeks between introductions of new foods and keep a food diary. Don't give more than 1 tbsp pellets a day (and none in...
