Tips on getting rabbits to conceive

Thanks everybody for all the advice! I had wondered if our holland does were getting older and that was causing some of our problem. So we have decided to start looking for some new young does. We do think that we may have two does that took this time as they are getting snippy as those girls...

Tips on getting rabbits to conceive

Alright I am going to try and get everything here:). I guess the first thing that would be important would be that all the does we are breeding are very eager to breed. So no problem there. They are mating about 3-4 times when we put them in the cage with the bucks. The two breeds are French...

Tips on getting rabbits to conceive

Does anyone have any tips on things that can prevent conception in rabbits? Is there a plant they could eat that would prevent them from getting pregnant? On the other side is there something that will help them conceive? We have been trying to breed our rabbits and they haven't been getting...

need help with newborn netherland dwarf bunny

I hadn't noticed that whether any of its limbs were deformed so I looked again and one of its back feet is deformed. Its eyes are mostly staying shut right now, as in he doesn't open them but the eyelids are not "glued/stuck" shut at all. It does have a very little amount of fur on it but it is...

need help with newborn netherland dwarf bunny

My Netherland Dwarf doe, Tamale, just had a single kit yesterday. The baby's eyes are already open/ing. It does have some slightly longer fur on it too, for a newborn! Is there a name or something for this? What should I do to make sure the eyes are damaged?

    Introducing a herd of Bunnies

I had a little time today so I thought I'd post a few pictures. Our computer quit a few weeks ago and had to go the shop for repairs and when we got it back I was very busy with the foster puppies and dogs that I take in for the local shelter and a rescue. In that vain a pregnant dog we recently...

    Sudden death...cause?

We have had two bunnies die very suddenly withing the last few months and still haven't figured out from what. Our best guess is that the mother and father were to closely related(brother and sister we believe) and that there was a genetic problem. Twinkie was 1 year and 2 months when she died...

    Introducing a herd of Bunnies

Here is Oreo. He is a broken chocolate mini lop. http://i412.photobucket.com/albums/pp208/hopalong-bunnies/IMG_3863.jpg Oreo likes to be held and will bump noses with you. He also loves to bounce all around the bunny barn. We are working on teaching him to walk on a leash and harness. He was...

    Introducing a herd of Bunnies

Our youngest sister has had a bunny, Quilla, for about 5 years but we have only had/raised bunnies for about 2 years. We didn't really do a lot with Quilla as she usually tried to bite us if we messed with her or her cage so we didn't really think bunnies were very friendly. Well about 2 years...

    Introducing a herd of Bunnies

Well I don't know who I should start with so I'll go for our Young Flemish giants. Reindeer is a fawn doe and Mistletoe is a black doe. They are about 8 weeks old in these photos, but are about 10 weeks old now. They have free run of the basement right now and love it:happyrabbit:. We are...
