worried about the heat

Its been very hot over here lately, and imnoticing that both the girls have been panting. It seems that no matterwhat I try it just doesn't work, they're drinking like crazy, I evengave them an ice cube to play with when they were out. I also tried thefrozen water bottle in the cage and I tried putting a fan and made itcirculate around the room not just on the cage so it doesnt get toocold... Im stumped:?Im concerned cuz I don't know what elseto do and I don't like that they are panting all the time! Has someoneever had this happen before??

Are they inside?

Try soaking a towel in water, clip it to the cage (like a curtain) andhopefully the fan will blow through the wet towel creating a coolbreeze...

Yes both my girls are inside bunnies, and theylive in my room with me!! Its a basement room so it should be coolenough ! I shut the curtains today and that seems to help alot I guessthe sun was shinning on them too much, I will have to try that towelthing though what a great idea !

oh boy, watch out for the little teeth that stick out through the barsand pull that towel right in for shredding....betcha it won't even havetime to dry.

It is an awesome idea if it's out of their reach!
