As many of you know Chris & I are getting a divorce. We have started to get the house ready to sell which means all the poor bunnies must be put in the basement. (Believe this was not my idea).

Well the problem is Daisy Mae had a cage that she used to eat and rest but most of her time in the past years have been free range in a bedroom and the hallway. Since she is in the basement now she is confined to her cage for very long periods of time. This is where the problem is, she does not use the litter box in her cage. The poorbaby will hold going to the bathroom for hours. And she is not eating much either. She had a tummy upset yesterday which thank goodness i caught early enough and gave her the Ovol.

I really can't leave her out without supervision. I am also trying to pack and clean the house for the sale. Chris is not around much either and when he is he is doing other things.

As we are splitting the bunnies I have actually insisted that he has to take the bunnies that he is taking. I think i have changed my mind on the ones I will keep. As hard as it will be for me to give up Wilbur & Jackie (believe I am tearing up as I write this knowing I may never see them again after next week). I decided as I am much closer to Winston & Vega I will keep them. I do not thinkhe would give them up but as he is living at the witches house who knows if she would insist that they not live there. I honestly don't think he could give Wilbur & Jackie away as we have had them for 7 years.

Anyways back to Daisy Mae does anyone have any ideas on what I can do to make her use the litter box in her cage. Yes i have put some of her poos in the litter box, she has hay right beside the litter box too.

Thanks for your help.

Susan:(

I am sincerely sorry about your situation and I hope everything goes well.

As to the litter box, did you try putting some poos and pees from your other buns in Daisy Mae's litter box?

Susan,

Can you give her a small play area around her cage where she has her cage and another small closed in space with a litterbox in it? I'm not sure I'm saying it right - like an X-Pen around her cage so she has some room outside the cage?

Poor baby...

Thanks for the replies, I tried to put poos of the other bunnies in her litter box that didn't work.

Peg their is no way at the moment I can make her a run. She is doing a couple of poo poosin the cage but explodes when i take her out and put her in the litter box. I'm really worried about her. Until Chris takes Wibur & Jackie I can't do much. Then i will have to put Winston & Vega down there too and Buttercup. Hopefully i can rig something up so she has a little more freedom.

Once i move I will definitely have her have at least 1/2 a bedroom, Winston & Vega will have the other half. Buttercup will be in the living room with me.
