I would have said "hi" in the subject but thats too cliche, lol.
So hello everybody :biggrin2:
I'm 25 years old, and a new owner of a sweet little bun!
I've been wanting a rabbit this year, so I began doing some bunny research. About a month later (this late September) my sister tells me "do you want a free bunny? My friend can get you one from his friend's farm. He's there right now. He'll get a cage for it too and everything."
Stunned at the opportunity of a free bunny, I agreed. So I began to rabbit proof my room and wrote down important notes. My sister's friend also sent pictures of the little bunny. It was white with brown spot markings. I looked up the type of rabbit and found out that was an english spot rabbit, however it's a mix since I found out it's father had a solid orange fur coloring (but the mother was an english spot.)
People thought I was a bit crazy for "getting a free rabbit", saying "its free? So that must mean its sick and its gonna die a week later!". I was pretty convinced that it wasn't sick when I saw pictures and videos of the little bun.
A week later (around October 1st), after rabbit proofing and tons of research, my bunny was delivered to me. (My sister's friend and his roommates took care of it for a week, he wasnt able to deliver it right away because of college.) I let this cutie out into my room, and a few minutes later after sniffing around, it started to do binkies. I knew from then on that this was the bunny for me  I then fed him (but not too much!) and gave him water, and he totally pigged out... he was a hungry little bunny.
It took me awhile think of a name, but once I found out that he was a male, I came up with "Mr. Bun Bun" somehow. The name just stuck.
I also found out that recently (end of October) Mr. Bun Bun's siblings had an unfortunate fate; they passed away since the people at the farm that "took care of them" left those poor bunnies out on a freezing cold night... without giving them an adequate way to keep them warm (these people should have checked the weather and found a way to keep them warm, jeez. :rollseyes)
So my bunny is a lucky one I'm I went with this opportunity. If I didnt, he would have met the same unfortunate fate as his siblings.
I know it was a bit of a strange story, but a month later he's a very happy, strong, and healthy bunny, and still does his binkies. He is also quite an escape artist, heh.
Soooo... thats my story!
EDIT: I should also mentioned that he's gotten bigger since he was first delivered to me!
