I am going to try and get Miffy to stop diggingin her litter box, it just get way too messy in there. I haveput in a plastic screen but I think she is figuring out that she candig at it also. I am wanting to make her a digging box butnot sure if it would be better to have one made from wood orjust a regular cardboard box and what to put in there forher? She digs everywhere really, on the leather couch, I didput a blanket she loves on it but she will still dig in thecorners. (Its funny to watch her on the couch now, she willrun back and forth, then do two or three bunny flops and just lay therefor maybe 10 whole minutes!) Ok, back to the diggingbox, if I put shredded newspaper in there, if she eats abunch, is that ok? Or should there be dirt in there (from ourbackyard) and the box be put in her outdoor hutch?

I guess I am really trying to figure out ways to try a keep her busy, Isaw some old posts about applewood (now I need to find it), straw matsand old phone books.

Thank you for any and all input on this typical bunny thing!

We tried cardboard for Bindy and she makes a real mess of it after awhile, so I have changed over to a cane basket, inside it is an oldtowel and some old phone book pages she ripped up, I lay the basket onits side so she doesn't have to hop all the way in if she doesn't wantto. In saying that I do keep a regular check on Bindys nailsso that she doesn't get them caught in the cane.

From time to time I use a cardboard one as well, but I am hoping to build a wooden one.
Bindy is an inside bun and she digs and scratches in her litter too, I think she likes the feel of the Woody Pet to be honest.

If using a cardboard one then pop some newspaper or an old towel orsomething and see how she goes, just keep an eye on how much cardboardgets chewed up etc Cardboard is ok (in moderation) but don't let hereat or chew it up if it's dirty from her doing her "bathroom things" init.

that was my biggest problem with the digging box...lots of "bathroomstuff" .. target has these clear plastic storage boxes....so i putstons of paper and newspaper shredding in there ..and you canimmediately tell if theres any odily waste in there and clean it upright after and dont have to worry about any unsanitaryconditions:)

The fun thing about cardboard is that they candig into that, too. But like everyone else said, you'll needto take it away if she eats a lot. As much as mine like toshred and nibble newspaper, they don't eat the preshredded stuff in thedig box.

You could also give her a sandbox to play in if you take her outside.
