In a few months we will be starting on a building a barn so we will have room for more bunnies. Currently I have two bonded Dutch bunnies: neutered male and spayed female.
Which is best to add: neutered male(s) or spayed female(s)? Or not even risk disrupting this happy couple's life?
Our local shelter always has them up for adoption.

I highly suggest taking them to the shelter and going on bunny dates. Let them pick the new member. Good for you for thinking adoption first :)

If it doesn't work out putting more with them, do you have room to keep another pair separate from them?

Either way, it's great that you want to adopt more.

I agree that you should let your bunnies pick there new friend(s). If they do not want more friends but you do you could get a new already bonded pair.

OK, that is great advice. It sounds like the best thing to do is to take the happy couple to the shelter to meet (and see if they like) another happy couple to room with.
I secretly hope for Flemish Giants, we'll see.

Whisper it in their ears, perhaps they will agree. I tend to try my favorites first, but let the buns ultimately decide. Sometimes things just click right or wrong for no obvious reason.
