There is a wildfire in Crown King, AZ...which is just 58 miles from me. Last night Ryan and I saw a huge red oara (sp?) outside over the mountain, but thought nothing of a wildfire....since it had just rained a bit.

Well, I woke up this morning to this odd smell. I thought something in the house was on fire, so I got up and looked around. I looked outside and it was just smokey and gross. We left all the windows open at night, so it was stinky inside our house.

All the windows are closed now, but I have to leave the rabbit room window cracked today, to let all the moisture of the swamp cooler out of the window. I really hope this doesn't irritate the pets. I more worry about the rats, but I have emergency Baytril on hand incase their breathing acts up a little bit.

I have had a hard time breathing the past few days, maybe asthma coming back from having it as a child? I have to make an appointment with the local health clinic to get it checked out. I hope the smokey air doesn't effect me today.

Anyway, please send vibes that the fire gets put out and doesn't travel any closer to me. Think of all the poor people, their pets, houses, wild animals, ect that are hurting right now.

The sunrise this morning...

Down the road a tad bit. Showing how smokey it is and how you can hardly see the mountain in the sky line right now, where as you can normally see the shape of trees....

Across the street....again, showing how you can hardly see the mountain...

This is just slightly down the road....like not even half a football field's distance (I'm bad with measurement)....

My son was 18 months old when we were evacuated from Flagler County because of fires. His breathing was never the same after that. Even now he's on Cingulair and has an emergency inhaler. Smoke is definitely something not to fool around with. I hope they get the fires under control soon and your air clears up!

Uggh. We had fires last year that were really bad. It was like a thick fog all the time, except it was smoke. I hope yours clears up soon. Ours took over a month to clear and some people had to leave because they were allergic to smoke.

I remember flying over Georgia last year and seeing the extent of the fires from the air. We had a number of days here in Florida there you could cut the air with a knife due to the Georgia fires.

Glad to hear that the smoke has cleared! That sunrise picture is sure pretty! I love the color of the sun. Hopefully the fire will soon be contained and won't travel and closer. With it raining that willl help a bit.
