So my rabbit died 5 years ago now, but it still really gets to me. He was the only rabbit I have ever owned, and was with me until he died aged 4.
The thing that upsets me the most is that I don't actually know why he died. He was very healthy, he ran around the garden during the day and was fully vaccinated. The day before he died I noticed he had some red spots/lumps on his skin, and I had booked a vets appointment for him. Do you think these were related to his death? I feel he knew he was going to die as he had voluntarily climbed into hutch (where I found him) which is not something he usually does.
Does anyone have any answers for me? I am terrified that there is some way I could have prevented his death.
