So, here's the backstory....
Once upon a time, there was Nuge.
He was so cute and friendly. But I figured he got lonely when I wasn't home.
So I contacted Midwest Rabbit Rescue (awesome folks!!) and they had a bunch of REWs that really needed a home. I wasn't able to afford the adoption cost but Dominique said that since they're so full they'll waive it as long as she gets a forever home out of it. So, then came LuLu.
LuLu and Nuge didn't really get off to a good start. I have a scar on my hand from breaking up a fight. But eventually they decided that they would love each other. It wasn't hugs and kisses all the time but at least they cuddled a lot.
Then, that winter, I found out that there were buns at the shelter in town. Since they don't spay or neuter buns, and give them away for free, I decided I'd go and pick them up and get them fixed and readopted. One of them had already been taken when I got there (sad... probably living in a hutch where nobody cares), but Martin was still there. Although I was told that he was a she... apparently they never even bothered to look because he had some pretty big Mike n' Ikes.
So I took them all to the vet to make sure they're all doing well and got Martin his pre-snip checkup. No fleas, no teeth problems, good health, no cuts or scratches even... so next week I dropped him off. He had an overnight stay (for pain management after the procedure) and a few weeks later he smelled 10000% better.
Then I thought... why not see if they all can get along and play together? Nuge and Martin didn't like each other much, but he cozied right up to LuLu.
Over the next couple weeks, LuLu had been humping the crap out of Martin, who wasn't used to this type of attention. Then the grooming started. Uh oh.
Martin and LuLu had practically bonded themselves! How was Nuge taking this? Not well.
Martin and LuLu eventually moved in together. They would lay on top of each other a lot. Do a lot of funny things. Martin would stand on her (or vice versa) to get to a water bottle if the other was in front of it.
Nuge got so lonely though... I decided he should have a partner, because it was the right thing to do.
