i have had to resort to putting coroplast down on the floor where the run is but there is a part that is not covered that i have to put a bunch of towels down. It seems like that is the first thing they want to do as soon as they get out, why? i am sick of cleaning a ton of towels, lol, i have put a litter pan down there but it does no good cause they will pick another spot, or move the litter box. is this still territory marking?

If they are not spayed/netuered it could be territory related, but it could also be that that is where they think they should go, or their litter habits are not strong enough for them to realise what a litter tray is when they are in the run.

It might be worth training them for the run with a different litter tray. I find cats ones really effective and hard to move too. Also vinegar (white) can be used as a deterant against places to go, so maybe try spritzing the area with vinegar, it doesn't smell as bad as you would imagine and goes off (to our noses at least)pretty quickly.

they are both nuetered, i noticed they started doing this while in the pen when bonding was going on. i have tried vinegar, and it still doesnt work, i will have to go to the dollar store and get another box and try that.

Maybe it's just become a habit now? I have some runs where all buns will use the same corner and be really tidy, but some where all the bunnies will go freely, and it also makes a difference in I change the place of the run. Is there anyway you could move it somewhere else? Or if it's an X-pen change the shape of it or something? Breaking the habit might help you be able to go from scratch with litter training.

Good luck, we have the same thing going on with Bo and Tony. Clover will drop a poo or two but ALWAYS goes to her box.

I'm sick of washing rugs, towels, blankets, CARPET!
