I was talking to my boyfriend today about famous people your related to, I thought It could be a fun thing for here.

Lauris Edmond, Poet she died many years ago but was quite well known in her time.
J B Smith, Great All black (NZ Rugby team) Dead
And I was going to be related to Tim Shadbolt (Funny as Mayor of Invercargill) through marriage but Tom and Vicki ended up breaking up

Not me personally but my mum's best friend is Kiera Knightley's 2nd cousin and my mums best friend's brother is dating my best friends mum and he is also Kiera Knightleys 2nd cousin so if they get married my best friend will sort of be related to Kiera Knightley!!!!

Yeah, sorry I didn't explain it very well

My mums best friend = Helen
Helen's brother = Phil
My best friend = Fay
My best friend's mum = Nicky

Here's the story....

Helen is my mums best friend, Phil is Helen's brother and they are 2nd cousins with Kiera Knightly.
Fay's mum Nicky is dating Phil. So if they get married then Fay will be sort of related to Kiera Knightly.

not related to anyone famous... but my dad swears we are related to faith Hill but I don't beleive that (suposedly one of his cousins adopted her) but i do know this my grandfather on my moms side wrote country songs when he was alive and he sold a song to george jones I don't beleive it was ever recorded though... and my great grandmother and george jones were both from the same town(big Sandy) ...2 of my daughters go to school with Mark chestnuts boys... my cousin dated one of them.. my daughter has been to his house and he sang at a christmas concert with my daughters class as a surprise to them...

supposidlly we are related to Marie Dressler, who was an actress way back in the day in black and white films, a governer of Pennsylvania, who was Govener Beaker (funny name), and a famous old time boxer. I have never looked any of the iformation up to see about them but it was interesting to hear about.

Ok i just looked up the govener stuff and it is Govener Beaver. I wonder if there is an ancestry thi ng you can do online for free to find this stuff out

A girl I work with, her boyfriend went to this primary school, and at that school, one of the dinner ladies was Gary Barlows mum!

Degrees of separation at its best!

Now you can all say that this girl you know, well this girl she works with, that girls boyfriend went to school where one of the dinner ladies is Gary Barlow's mum. Now you all have another connection!

On my mom's side someplace, it goes all the way back to the 12th president of the United States, Zachary Taylor. He was like my great (lots of greats) grandfather or uncle or something.
