I have yet to get the refills for the terrific feliway thingies that SeniorCats sent to me...... but I am going to get them this week - if nothing else, for Tank - to maybe make him a little less hateful to Diesel........

Diesel is now Mommy's shoulder kitty! He has gotten SO much better in the past 2 weeks......... He still nips and plays a lot but I actually get shoulder kitty who gives me kisses, and nite-nite kitty who goes in on the bed with me and makes biscuts (kneads with his paws) on the blankets..... and PURRRRRS really loudly! and PLAYS..... but he still wants to play with the bunnies and Bo has literallybitten off hiswhiskers! LOL! It's really funny to seethe short ones (mostof them now)and know why they are!

I've been really busy this week and we're still going to be busy. I'm hoping to take a little trip to the Quarter Horse Congress in Ohio this week - but I don't know if I will be able to. Hubby is working out of town. But I pop on now and then to say hello :)

Although my knuckles are stiff and permenantly white from the death-grip I had on the steering wheel of my truck - I am proud to say that I actually drove Pokie to a show in the trailer today!!! I have only pulled the trailer like 3 times and it was empty and not far from home at all! I went about 25 miles one way today on highways and through town :) Lexi placed in ALL of her classes but 2 and those were really competitive and Pokie was tired at the end for the final class. She won a big class and got several 2nds and 3rds in big classes - against major showmen!! Of course when Pokie got tired, she decided to do the *Hi - Ho Silver!* again :X We've had this problem a lot lately....... she knows it scares Lexi and she's using it against her.....

How's Diesel's balance with his newly-shortened whiskers ?:D
Not like I know anything about horses, but that was really cool that your pOkie is involved in psychological warfare with Lexi... Didn't know they had that capacity (not like horses are stupid or anything, but I associate that more with cat behaviour...)

Good work on the trailer manoeuvering.. I know how hard it is with a little 4 ft. trailer, nevermind a big ol' trailer with a horsie in it too!

Give Lexi congratulations from all of us at RO! That's a fantastic accomplishment! GO LEXI GO!!!!

LOL! He's balanced just fine! Poor little guy LOL!

Oh, horses are VERY smart and have strong personalities sometimes.

Dakota gives hugs (walks into you and puts his head over your shoulder and his chest against yours! It's so sweet :)

Both Pokie and Kota also play games like "cutting" which is actually something horses do in cattle driving..... they "cut them off" from the herd or keep them penned with the herd and such.

Dakota isn't fully trained but Lexi rides him and works with him (he's going to a trainer for some steering training sometime in the winter)... and one day he decided that he wasn't interested in working - that he would prefer going to eat his hay. No matter what we did, FORWARD was not an option until she dismounted him and led him to the barn LOL! He's usually so compliant and wants to please us.

OH dear, the "HI-HO Silver" thing would just freak me out as a mom. My daughter rides and she does great even when the horse does weird stuff they aren't supposed to but I turn to jelly when that stuff happens:?. I'm such a worrier I guess.

Glad the kitty stuff is helping to calm at least one cat. Poor Diesel with the short whiskers. I bet he looks a bit funny. Our cat used to lie so close to the woodstove that he actually singed his whiskers off on one side. It looked ridiculous but he never seemed to notice.

Oh believe me - I have heart failure each time she has something happen. I just try to encourage her to stay on because if she gets off the horse figures it out and she might not get back on.

My niece was trampled by her horse at a show one year. I nearly died right there. If I had a gun at the time I think I'd have shot that horse! My niece didn't ride for a LONG time after that..... Now she's a barrel racer LOL.

Kids are so resiliant! I can't believe she's barrel racing after that. That stuff scares me. Fun to watch though. I would have done it in a heartbeat when I was younger though;). I haven't ridden in about 20 years now. I actually signed my daughter and I up for a mother-daughter ranch campout this weekend and we will both be riding.I will be very sore on Monday!
