LOL ya'll are abunch of sillies , thecable modem wasnt detecting the phoneline no big she will beback soon . or the phone linewasnt working in the modem something likethat lol

<geekmode> OK, so its gotta be themodem wasn'tseeing the phone line, first thing, have her tryhooking it up to another phone line and that will tell her if its themodem or the cable. She's on dial up if I remember right...ifthat doesn't do it, then have her reinstall the modem drivers(hopefully she knows what I mean)...or if possible, even update thosedrivers, which will be hard unless she has a way to get to anotherconnection to get the updated drivers.She could alsouninstall the modem andreboot the computer and let it repullthe drivers, she may need the cd for this.If none of thatworks, then its most likely hardware related... Whichwould mean another modem...POSSIBLY the board on her computer, but morelikely the modem itself...but to rule out the board she can try movingit to another port on the board if one is open!</geekmode>

Hope some of that can get passed on to her...and hopefully something helps!

 

LOL PGGshe has un installed and reinstalledwith no luck , then foundout phone line was detached from backof computer , hooked it in nodice no way wasnt happening Iguess someone is coming out to checkit for her and hopefully haveher up and running in no time flat.

lol what is that 24 hr tech company... GeekSquad? they have a commercial where this lady's computercrashes and she screams and like all the computer geeks hear (dressedup with pen protectors and all) and they have all these geeks deployedin VW bugs to this ladys house...its a hysterical commercial

I wouldn't trust them with my toaster..... I did see some of them fools driving down theroad here the other day...it was hysterical!
