Hey all,

Mocha's not eating yet. I picked her up at 4 pm, it's 10 now. No food,no poo. But she drank and peed. When should I start getting worried?

Did they say if she ate when she was there? Iwas told by my vet that at 24 hours their systems start to shut downand its almost impossible to get them to start again. I recently had tofeed Corky via syringe to keep that from happening. If youdon't see anything by morning I'd be calling vet right away.

Try to tempt her with her favoritetreats. Does she like fruit or oats? If she's noteating in the morning, call the vet. It's really good thatshe's drinking.

This is naturestee's husband. Naturestee justleft for work but said she was checking the forum later from there sothis is for her and everyone else who is worried. I just checked onmocha and she was gingerly eating some lettuce. Also there were a fewpieces of poo in the litter box. Yay! Thank you all for the prayers, advice, and encouragement.
:muscleman: (I couldn't resist putting <- in lol)

This is me again (the femalecounterpart). Hooray! I'm not worried about thedrinking. That was the first thing she did when she gotback.:groupparty:

Hi naturestee,

You might give the little one some NutriCal until he starts eating onhis own. It will encourage his appetite, boost his immunesystem, and give him the nutrients he needs while he's off hisfeed. Some rabbits do take a few hours to come out of thespell of the medication and start eating again. Reallyencouraged and happy to hear that the little guy nibbled on somelettuce.

Keep us posted.

I am actually ridiculously happy to see bunnypoo. Oh and Carolyn, we found out Mocha is a girl! The vet that checkedher last week was wrong.

She ate a little cilantro and some dried nettles from me this morning. The little booger even jumped out of her cage while I was cleaning herlitterbox! She was running in slow-mo down the room and refused to letme pick her up. She grunted at me! Not a happy grunt either, those aremore like buzzes. I had to herd her back to her cage, naughty thing. And of course she had to poo while out of her cage. What else is poofor if not to spread it around the room?

I was laying by her cage reading, but I thought maybe she would eat more if I WASN'T there.

Mocha was licking down there, though. I'll have James help me pick herup and make sure she's not pulling at her stitches. The vet said sheonly used buried dissolving stitches- could she still pull them out?

After comparing notes with James, we realizedhow little Mocha has actually been eating. I think the grand total is asmidgen of lettuce, maybe three leaves of cilantro, 2-3 leaves of driednettles, and a few oats. That's not much! And I hand fed her as much asshe would take. So I just ran to Petsmart and picked up some NutriCal.She won't let me touch her, so I only managed to get a little dab onone of her feet.

How much should she be getting and how often? And should I hold herdown with a towel or something? She lunges and growls at my hand unlessit's holding food through the bars.

I've been putting it on Corky once a day...and Ijust put some on there, don't really measure it..maybe aboutanickel sized worth....think theres some guildelines on thebox.

She may not feel like eating much, but thats at least something, so hersystem will continue to work. I would maybe give the vet acall to and see if they think this is normal. Try to findthings she likes the best to get her eating.

Good luck and hang in there!!! I'm sending good vibes you and Mocha's way!

i read a book that said the day after so if theday after there is nothing take them in but try bribing them withtreats and stuff first. If you have any worries no matter howsilly them seem or no matter how soon u think it is just ring the vetthats what there there for.

Hope she is okay, we are getting hetti spayed friday :(

I know she's not feeling well, but I have tolaugh a little. Mocha is shaved on her belly from below her ribcage on.Her fur always makes her look so much bigger than she is. It looks likeshe's wearing a corset now!

lol oh no :(do rabbits take the mickeyout of other rabbits? if so i think jack will have a field day withhetti bless her lol :D
