I got my bunny, Weston, about a week ago from a petstore. Whenever he's relaxed, his ears form a backwards "L" shape. Is this any indication of what his breed might be?

Sorry, I can't see the ears in your photo or know what you mean by a backward L. But I'm guessing you mean he's a lop, or part lop. Look at some pictures in the breeds section.

Sometimes when buns have huge ears they haven't grown into yet they can whip out at weird angles. My Matthias is a lionhead/english lop mix and for the longest time his ears looked just like your rabbit's. Eventually Matthias' did lop, but consider New Zealands or Flemish Giants...their eyes are enormous and wonky till they're head grows into them :)

Depending on how much Weston weighs...my best guess would be a black Havana, a NZ mix or a satin mix. What's his fur like? :)

I'm not sure how much he weighs. He is a little more than half the size of my dwarf, Max (RIP), who was 3.5 lbs when he died. Weston's fur is really fluffy and soft.

Looks like our Stewart--he had really long hair and oh so shiny. He was the prettiest black otter I've ever seen. His father was an ND that bred to a lop by accident, so he had very long ears but still had the looks of a Netherland.

When "erect eared" bunnies that are mixed with lops (ears that droop), theirs ears will either go up or when relaxed, go like Weston's. Nothing wrong with it.

That's where the term "airplane ears" came to be. lol. Love Weston's ears. What a pretty boy he is.

K:)
