It's probably just as well that he's not eating carrots much - they're way too sugary for a rabbit to eat too frequently. Carrots are treats, not food (at least, the roots - the green tops are fine in quantity).

Your bunny should get green leafy vegetables - lettuce (romain, green leaf, endive - any kind except iceberg), kale, dandelions, collard, turnip or mustard greens, bok choy, celery tops, etc. I give Natasha a bowlful of organic Spring Mix every morning. She loves the variety - she'll pick out one kind of leaf, and eat a few of them, then switch to another... mental stimulation and a meal, all in one. I think it's good for her to get a mix of greens to make sure she gets the nutrition she needs.

Broccoli's OK, if you bun likes it and doesn't react badly - Scone loved broccoli, but as he got older, it gave him gas and I had to stop giving it to him. Natasha, on the other hand, thrives on it, and she gets a few florets every evening as a bedtime snack.

Hi I agree with everything Mike said, mine also like Parsley, Dill, Spinach, they LOVE Carrot tops (most of my grocery stores give them to me if I'm there when they are cutting them off).

Treats mine love in moderation bananas (very small pieces iffresh) I have a dehydrator that I dry bananas they love those. They also love Blueberries, strawberries, craisins, sunflower seeds.

Many will not agree with me but every Sunday they get a tiny Paris toast as a treat. I have been doing this for years now so I kinda think if it was that bad for them something would have happened long before now.

I'm sure their are other treats i'm forgetting at the moment.

Susan:)

Fraggles loves cilantro and mint leaves she also loves broccoli, carrot tops, parsley, romaine, spinach and celery as a tread. She also enjoys pears, apples, dried cranberries and banana as a treat. I'm going to start doing the spring mix like Mike does that sounds great.

Faves here are cilantro, parsley, spring mix, dandelion greens, kale, leaf lettuce, romaine, celery tops, mint, basil, broccoli rabe, turnip greens, carrot tops, cherry tomatoes, occassional spinach and cabbage.
For fruit treats we give blueberries, strawberries, grapes, raisins, dried cranberries, dried blueberries, dried banana chips, fresh slice of banana, apple pieces, carrots, pear slices, dried papaya.
I want to try watermelon with them soon.

The person I got my 2 dutch rabbits from said that they LOVED the green parts to the strawberries, I know they can have strawberries but I never thought about giving them the green tops to the ones I eat.

I'd second that - I'll often share a snack of fresh strawberries with Natasha (and Scone before her). I eat the berries and she gets the tops, win-win!

thank you everyone!! i'll definitely try the suggestions! =D

@Mike: he only had a little bit and it made him a bit and it disagreed =( so im stopped the carrots, only going for tops now. I found it weird with the carrots, he had never had a problem before, but now he does.
