What is the point in spooky stories?
Seriously!
What IS the point?

They just scare people and keep people awake..

My little sister's (10) 'Best Friend' (yeah right) has been telling Emily spooky stories, that have kept her awake at nigth crying and shouting mum.

WHAT IS THE POINT

It's not cool, its not funny its just silly.

:X

She already hated being upstairs by herself, now with this she doesn't want to go anywhere by herself.... This is what I keep telling her:

"You have lived your whole life without none of these spooky stories happening to you, its only now that your thinking about them you think their going to happen, which they wont! And even if they were true, which they msot definelty are not, why would they happen to you? Out of all the little children in the world why you!?"

But nothing we say helps her!

She is crying right now, ARGH I hate little annoying kids sometimes! (Not my sister lol the girl who is telling the stories)

ETA: Can a mod change the title to Heck instead of hell? I'm not sure which ones better hehe, Whatever is more suitable, sorry :biggrin2:

Aww, it's awful feeling scared. I hope Emily is feels better soon! Sometimes even if you know it doesn't make sense to be scared, you still are.

Spooky stories can be fun to tell when you and your friends are on camp or something :D and a lot of people don't get scared, it's just fun. But they can be very bad if they're scary and sometimes it's better not to tell them at all because you don't know if anyone will get scared.

Give Emily lots of hugs :) They always make me feel better.

Thanks Numbat, will do.

And yeh of course spooky stories are fun to tell at camps or sleepovers etc but when you have a little scaredy cat sister who is already scared of loads of stuff and has only just got over the phobia of being upstairs alone (which has now come back) its just not fun anymore :(

Its keeping everyone awake too!

BUMP: Shes crying again :(

Does anyone have any ideas about what we can do?
She won't tell us the scary stories yet she is crying her eyes out and makes mum go upstairs every 10 mins to check on her.

I babysit a lot so whenever they get scared or worried of the dark or something like that I bring a stuffed bunny and I make it afraid too so the child has to comfort it. Then the child gets more assured. It usually works. Oh, you should also talk to the "best friend".

:bunny16:D

I said should I talk to her friend and mum said no... I would kick ehr butt ahhaa! And I wanted her to stay with me for a night but mum said no because she might get in the habit of it :(
