Ok, so I thought I'd not hijack Fran's thread any longer...

Barney and Snowy are both lops..... but what kind? They both weigh between 6-7 pounds, actually Snowy is about 7lbs.... Barney was 6.5lbs, last time I weighed him...

Sooo... I was told they were Dwarf Lops (this is where I get confused- isn't a Dwarf Lop a Mini-Lop in the US?), but then they seem quite big against other Dwarf Lops I've seen, plus Barney's face is a completely different shape to Snowy's- Snowy has a more 'pointed', elegant face, and Barney's is kinda squashed looking.... kind of like I've seen some US Holland Lops on here, but he's too big for one of those I think....

Here are some pics...

Barney is 3 and Snowy is 2 1/2...

Also, despite their weights, neither is 'chubby'. Snowy doesn't really have much of a dewlap, and they are both really fluffy, but not chubby anywhere.... :?

Thanks!

Mini Lop is the smallest, it's about 3lb, so definitely not that. Dwarf Lop is around 5lb, so they may be oversized? And then German Lop, it's bigger again, maybe around 7lb? I'm not sure, but bigger anyway. But that's as much as I know! I don't understand all the head shape stuff, good luck finding out what they are. :)

If I can remember right, the UK minilop is like our holland lop, the dwarf lop is like out minilop. Although aren't the dwarf lops more similar to french lop in body type ect?, just smaller? Or is that the german lop that is more similar tothe french lop, just smaller?

My guess would be they are larger sized dwarf lops :).

Or.. could they be french/dwarf lop mix?
