This is Vegas, a 1 year old Mini Rex mix. He is about 3 1/2 pounds. What is he mixed with? He has a broad head and short ears.

Does he have Mini Rex fur? He appears to be a full Mini Rex, assuming he has the rex fur (hard to tell, the picture is a bit fuzzy). They should have some width to the head and shorter ears to balance. Narrow heads or long ears are not ideal.

No, he doesn't have rex fur, but his mom did and some of his babies did.

I'm not sure what he may be mixed with then because he does appear to have the type of a MR. He doesn't really have any eye-catching characteristics of something else. But if I were to throw out a completely wild guess, I would say maybe Netherland Dwarf since his ears stayed on the shorter side, head stayed bold and he is broken otter. Black otter is a very common color in NDs. Like I said though, that guess is completely out of left field. LOL

The does have longer narrower heads. It is pretty easy to tell a male Mini Rex from a female. Just look at the head shape, they are 2 completely different shapes.

I agree that if I had to make a guess with the mix of your bunny I would guess Nethie.

Really?? I never knew that though I've had several Mini Rex does. You learn new things every day! :)

I had no idea the head shape was so characteristic. When I look at Gary the thing that pops out to me is his big old butt. I love how round his rump is, particularly when he bows for pets. :)

Yep, you just described Archie to a tee. He melts for head rubs and that rump sticks waaaay out.

I never noticed about the head shapes on mini rexes either.
