Whatever this veggie is, it keeps showing up in my bunches of cilantro. I try to go through it really good and get it out but I am nervous I will miss some and that it is not a safe veggie for a bun. If it isn't I am going to have to start shopping somewhere else. This happens 80% of the time I buy cilantro from Meijer. It is always the same plant.

So if anyone knows what this is, please let me know. The leaf parts are in a tear drop shape.

Thanks Amy

an extra vegy/weed//,good -bad//unknown//,sad thing about the safe list(no pictures)-looking at the safe list we can associate-a familiar/-known-plant to given name on the list,,,i agree with you don,t feed it,,i have tried in vain to expand my knowledge of different plants/trees,,i end up right back where i started//general-familiarity,,i do watch wild rabbits and pick some of what they eat//still don,t know what it is,,i can describe it but look it up /heck no---years ago,,the king would have a taste tester//the idea was if he(the tester/guinea pig) didnot die, then it was safe for the king to eat,,,i even tried wikapedia,,,sincerely james waller

Thanks James. I always try to pick it out but I am afraid I will miss some. I might have to start shopping somewhere else.

I havent seen any in my bunch that I purchased from meijer, but I'll have to keep a closer eye on it from now on. Thanks for the info (and sorry I cant help on finding out what it is!)

Thank you so much Rebekah. That is what it looks like. I was really nervous over what it was but didn't want to waste what I bought. I feel a lot better. Thanks again.

Whew! From that first pic, it looks like jade plant, or some other common weed that we get in the midwest sometimes. But they have very fleshy leaves, almost like a succulent. If the leaves are thin I bet it's just young cilantro.

Maybe next time I go to Meijer's I will grab some cilantro and show the person who works in produce what I am finding and see if they know what it is. I would think they would know. Then I will be sure. You never can be too safe when feeding something to your bunny, even if it is accidental.

I bet it isyoung cilantro;I really doubt if the produce person would know but it won't hurt to ask..:)
I have gotten cilantro my whole life from different stores, however, and never found anything that looked like that mixed into it

I am so happy angieluv is back....and posting to my thread. :) I am allowed to hijack my own thread, right? I am so glad you are back.

Ok done hijacking my own thread.

I think I will just go back to shopping at Giant Eagle or Kroger. I never had this issue with them. The only reason I started shopping at Meijers was because they had huge dandilions that my bunny's love. For some reason they like the bigger dandilions better.

Amy

Thank you for missing me :)

Ireally doubt it is a harmful plant but you''re right to play it safe (althoughI think it's baby cilantro)
