Ok so they were thinking that he is a possible Pal/Flemmie mix. Also what would his color be considered.

Did he come from the local area? (Connecticut?) There is a guy up that way that is crossing Rhinelanders with Flemish... He claims to be working on "Broken Flemish". Not an accepted variety (and a lot of Flemish people don't think it should be...). That could be one of his "charlies". ("charlie": a broken patterned rabbit with less than 10% contrasting color. ETA: "Not enough spots".)

He is from CT. Was dropped off at a Nature Center.

He still seems pretty young. His feet seem so big for his body. I wonder if he still has a bit growing to do.

Someone may have bought the rabbit as a pet, saw how big it was getting and decided not to keep it and let it loose... (jerk!) I don't think that guy releases rabbits...

I would hope not.

3bunnies keeps getting rabbits that are being dumped a nursing home grounds.

Poor HRN has had some major dumps in Plymouth. In that case the buns were all looking the same features and breeds. They believe it was a breeder dumping the unwanted.

Also heard in Springfield someone had been dumping lionheads outside.

:grumpy:Breeders like that are what gives good breeders bad names.

Please don't get me started... it'll make this thread WAY too long. I get SO upset.

He's so gorgeous Ali.. looks like a fawn or orange to me? But I'm far from an expert. :p

I love how the tops of his feet are white and the bottoms are orangey.

I'd guess he's a fawn/sandy Flemish cross...

ETA: If he's still young, he may darken up more like a Sandy. He doesn't have the really dark ear lacing that a Sandy usually has.

(So sorry... )

Lets cross our fingers that this works out and he comes home with us soon.

I really hope he comes home with us soon. If he does I will have to ask once we are sure he stopped growing.

Ali, he really looks just like Tony in the face and his body shape. he holds his back feet exatly like Tony does. His ears are much longer from what I can tell, but that could be age also.

I would guess pal and maybe flemmish cross is right. Here are some photos so you can see the similarity. Elf has a thinner face and I've noticed that a lot of does have the thinner, girly faces. I would say he's a golden with some ticking of brown because of the cross.

I could be totally wrong also, just so you know LOL!
