9, all DOA, Lionhead Lops. The doe died the day she was due, we tried to save the babies by a very unskilled "c-section" right after she passed but they where already gone.

Poppy(mini rex) and Jules'(Dutch) first litters, both had 8 and both lost 1 before weaning, raised their own. Amita had 8 and kept all through weaning.
THey had them on different years, Poppy's almost 3 years, Amita's 2 years and Jules is 9 months.

We have a black Flemish Giant buck from a litter (from another breeder) of 13 or 14! All but one made it, though some have passed away since and our Harry is just fine. For Flemish, sometimes kits from big litters seem to take longer to make weight. Many still do.

Flemish Giant 11, 7 survived, all does, she raised 9 as I fostered two from a Satin Angora on her. Florida White has 10 right now, think their 3-4 weeks, all doing well. Floridas can really have large litters, think Blossoms last litter was 11, lost a few along the way, raised 7 or 8.

Is it correct that does have a set number of teats, 7 or 8?

Nature makes things more difficult for does that produce xlarge litters. Kudos to any bun owner who has attempted to hand rear kits.

It's good that fostering kits onto another doe can be successful :)
