what happened

myholland lop doedied just all of a sudden. it was a could days after her first litter (all the babies had died) and i saw her on her side heeving i came over to see what was wrong and she stopped moving my mom and i checked to see if she was breathing we noticed a hard lump on her stomach. I just want to know if anyone knows what might hav happened to my best show rabbit.:?

Is it possible that she retained a kit?

If she had retained a kit - she wouldn't have nursed the kits (which they would have died of course) and then she could have gotten an infection from the retained kit and died.
