What does it mean?

Shadow and Kiaya share the playpen during playtime, but I have noticed when kiaya starts to play with a toy, Shadow will thump and snort but I can't figure out what she is trying to say. Shadow doesn't play with the toys.Any help?

Sounds like small children--"mine!" We had 3 doberman's and six of the same nylabone--the two without would follow the one with all over and never touch the others. Animals can be bratty too.
