[sup]You need 5 GCSE's to be a veterinary nurse:[/sup] at grade C or above including English, maths and two science subjects, or equivalent qualifications
[sub]

I can't wait! I'm already due to get B's and C's and I'm in Year 9 Woop Woop! I need to work my butt off,

It's different in Ireland, we do the leaving cert not GCSE and just need one sci subject or home economics. Plus I'm excellent at English lol. I'm smart but you have to be a genius to be a vet here.

I'm great at English too, Crap at Maths and Okay at Science, *fingers crossed*
Ya I'm the same, horrible at maths too and ok at science, I'm good at Irish and German too. your either a maths or english person lol.

Aww Becca you decided you do want to do vet nursing then?! :D

I want to be a dentist, I think. Medicine interests me too though. Which ever one, I would like to study in Queens in Belfast, but the entrance grades are very very high, see them here. :? If I don't get grades like that I'm not sure what I want to be, something science-related though. (I would like to be a vet too, but it's not offered anywhere in NI you'd have to go to Scotland, England or Dublin, and I'd prefer to stay at home. The entry grades are almost the same for Dentistry anyway.)

Well, I'm going to do an English degree at uni - so probably something English-related.;)I really don't care about having some high-powered high-paid job, as long as I enjoy it.:)That being said my dad is determined I will have a career in law...:rollseyes:p

I would have loved tostudy medicine or veterinary sciences,as I think it would be such an amazing career to be able to help people/animals like that, but I just don't think I could handle it. I am seriously so squeamish!:?

I'm not at all, I've already had my hand up a cows butt holding her guts in because they started to fall out after she had a calf.

I still haven't made up my mind on what I want to be when I'm older. :?I've thought of many things, but I still need to think of some more things to have as a back-up.

I'm still not sure yet....:huh

Yeah, I always used to wnat to be a vet but I never wanted to do the op's I'd be scared I would get it wrong and hurt the animal even more.
Then Jen was saying about her becoming a veterinary (YAY I SPELT IT RIGHT) nurse and it inspired me.

GO JEN

I think I'd really love doing that job, because i love animals and ty and give them the best chance possible.

I am going to go to College to become and EMT/Paramedic. Isn't someone on here an EMT? I'd love to talk!! lol

And then hopefully maybe 15/20 years down the line I'll go back to school and get a degree for Vet. Medicine for small animals....lol.

I'd love to do digital photography (small scale), train dogs, and hopefully some day own my own business. I'd prefer to own a store, something retro/vintage style...along with a part of the store that has homemade products/organic/holistic pet products for all sorts of pets. I'm not entirely sure what type of store I'd like to own :p.

Hoprefully something art and design related. I'm not as clever as you guys. I have so many options at the moment which is why I'm taking my foundation in art and design so I can suss out what I like best before degree time! At the moment my favourites are graphic design for advertising, fashion photography or furniture design

Time to kick up an old-ish thread? :p

I am not sure what I want to do as a job, but really my passion would be in schooling horses for falconry and falconry holidays, but then I dont want falconry to be my job. Its my lifestyle. I definitly want to take a course in small animal medicine though.
Other then that dog trainer, photographer, stable manager, etc I would like, but I want to go far in life and live my dream (only gonna live once!).

I would absolutely love to be an EAMT. But that will never happen. I've always wanted to be a vet. Iconsidered going back to school but the problem is, I am not great with math. I am excellent in chemistry andI dowell in Physics but I'm worried that I'd just be pushing too much for something that should come more naturally so I guess that's another no-no. I guess I'll just stay home and do nothing :(Lol. Ah well :p

I want to be well! lol.

If I get there my options are going back to teacher training, being a vet nurse, driving instructor or counsellor/therapist of some sort.

I want to be a vet nurse! :D

Hopefully if I continue to be better, I'll go back to college and find a placement next year.... I'm really excited at the thought!

Saying that, I've had a major setback today, couldn't get out of bed until this afternoon, and can't see properly :?

I can't wait until I can be employed and have a proper job.... I really hate meeting people, or seeing relatives etc and having to explain that I'm out of work because I'm sick- yet I'm stood there looking relavtively healthy. I get this 'oh, really?' look :(

It may not be a setback, it could just be you have a bug or something, and even if it is a bad day, everyone gets bad days, and hopefully tomorrow will be better :)

I know that feeling about saying you are off sick though. Tis hard, but heyho, its no one elses busines at the end of the day, you know you are justified in saying it/not working, etc, and that's all that matters really.
