My neighbor just brought me about a dozen of them. Its a great gesture, but I have no clue as to how to "fix" them.

Any suggestions while I look it up on google?

Oh, I love squash! No recipe suggestions really (I suck at cooking), tho you can get good recipes online. You can bake them with brown sugar and such and they're supposed to be really good - some varieties are tastier than others too.

Enjoy your squash tho! I planted squash plants and the fruit was growing so nicely...had 5 or 6 big ones forming on the vine...but the $%@#$# squirrels stole them all. :grumpy: gggggrrrrrr

What sort of squash is it?

I would cook some really nice lasagna with really great cheese, sace and then...

Throw the squash in the garbage! UNLESS it's zuchinni and those are great for breads!

Yeah, like the others said, what kind of squash is it? The big kind that you have to peel, or little ones like yellow/summer squash? I didn't used to like squash, but I have several tasty recipes for it and now we really like it. I'll be happy to share once I find out what kind it is.

My dad bakes acorn squash halves in the oven with cinnamon, brown sugar, butter, and some more savory spices...
I've got a few spaghetti squash (aka marrow) recipes, (those are hard to come by, tho :)

If it's acorn squash, then Northern Autumn gave you a great cooking idea. You can also add chopped tart apple to the hollowed part of the acorn squash while it's cooking. Very tasty.

If it's yellow acorn squash, just wash and slice or chunk and steam or microwave for a few minutes and drizzle butter on 'em. Or cut in thick slices, layer in a casserole with seasoned bread crumbs, some 1/2 and 1/2 or whole milkand your favorite cheese and bake.

I like the patty pan squash cause you can hollow them out and fill them with various meats or lentils.

The ones I have are yellow, not real huge but big enough and resemble an odd looking cucumber. :)

Summer squash maybe?

YUM!

It is great grilled! I bathe mine in italian dressing before throwing it on the grill. It's also good on skewers with lots of other veggies. If it is summer squash, you can use it like zucchini and even make bread out of it, slice it and layer it in lasagne, throw it in vegetarian chili, you name it. Lots of possibilities!
