Looks like a heavily marked Broken Blue to me. He'd be unshowable because he's what we call "booted", and he's heavily coloured.

Well I he has been mated by my chin doe and there is one kit that has lovely broken markings. Will Get pics of kits soon.

What colour would be best mating to smokey to get show colours and markings?

You can breed to black,blue,lilac,chocolate, and sometimes opal.

Personally . I wouldn't breed a booted in . best bet is to breed to a light patterned broken(maybe a charlie) I'll have to look this up again

I'm sorry. What does Booted mean? Are you talking about they only have white boots or feet?

It's like the complete opposite of a charlie. They have too much color on them to be shown. Comes from both parents having the booted recessive gene. Horrible to get out of lines

Ummm.! My aunt showed a Rex like this with this much color and she got her first leg on her..!

But it looks like a Broken Blue
