I have a 14 week old bunny named Lola. She is a blue eyed white. the store where she was purchased said she was a mini satin- but she was in a cage of all different breeds from the breeder. she went the the vet at 10 weeks and was about .5 lbs. not sure of her exact weight now but it's probably about 1 lbs even though she eats like a pig :). she's super active and friendly. Lots of breeds come in blue-eyed-white color, so that doesn't narrow things down much.

The main thing which distinguishes Satin/Mini-Satin rabbits is their fur - it's very soft, shiny and silky. Rex/Mini-Rex rabbits have very soft fur, too, but Rex fur stands up and is short, like velvet, while Satin fur is longer and lies flat.

We have a breed identification key here on RO which might help - see What Breed is My Bunny?

The key page for Satins is http://www.rabbitsonline.net/f29/satin-mini-satin-77880/

she's not rex. could be satin based on the shininess in the fourth picture. OR she could just be a mutt breed (which is fine too right?) as long as you care well for her that's all that really matters eh? :)

thanks for all the help guys! mikescone, after seeing the picture of the white satin you 100% confirmed to me she is one in my mind!
and ladysown you're absolutely right! she could be anything and she'd still my pretty little ball of love haha. I was just curious as far as what to expect in adult size and appearance

Id say most likely a mini satin. The sheen on her coat is undeniable. If I remember correctly satin fur is recessive and both parents must either carry or express it.

Many stores will often use one breeder who raises multiple breeds that they can get a variety from and also at a cheaper price when multiple babies are bought. Not to mention mini satins come in sooo many colors.

that makes sense as when I bought her she was mixed in with a bunch of mini rex, dutch, polish, and neatherland dwarves. the salesman THOUGHT she was satin but he said he wasn't so sure as they were all young.
thanks for the info on the coat- that's interesting! she is definitely a very shiny girl :)
