Its being advertised as a French Angora..it looks like it to me. I called the people (I have been dying for an angora) and they said it has the "wooly" type fur too, but it was sold to them as a lionhead.

I've had lionheads that look just like that...I thought the angoras had a tuft on their ear too?

Anyway - I have lionheads that look like that.

How large is the rabbit? From the photo, it appears to be a fuzzy lop with erect ears.

The size will be more of a clue, but a number of normal furred breeds carry the wooled gene, so it can be difficult to guess.

The French aren't as heavily furnished as the English Angoras, butcan have side trimmings (cheek wool) and can be tufted on the tips of the ears.

If the rabbit were sold as a Lion, I'd think that it is unlikely to be a purebred French Angora, and most likely a small wooled breed.

It isn't purebread, for sure.

Its about "two pound" they said..which seems small for a French Lop (Who are larger bunnies, right?)

They jsut told me they bought him at a petstore..so I think we all agree its a mix now LOL.

French Angoras are larger. I believe they are about the size of a giant angora (min for a buck 9.5 pounds), but they might be a bit smaller. 2 pounds is not an adult angora of any breed.
Doesn't really look 2-3 months either or 2 pounds. It could just be the position of the rabbit. My Penelope is only 3.5 pounds and looks smaller than that rabbit.
He is cute and might produce some good wool, but probably isn't pure bred.

I thought you were sticking with just Chew and the lop baby (if him and her bond)? I don't think getting another rabbit will be a good decision for you right now and I'm just saying that because I'm your friend - you have a lot on your plate right now with Sheriff...even though I am taking him in, he is still "your problem" too, LOL. Besides....perhaps the $30 rehoming fee they are asking for that bunny can go towards Sheriff's neuter?

Amy, I offerd to pay half of the nueter already..! I don't even mind payinig for the full nueter, even though I won't be keeping him, which I have told you. So really.

I understand he is "my" problem, thats why I am giving you food, ect ect. But I am giving you him because I can't handle his aggressivness, if you don't want him, I can find somebody else if you don't want to deal with it.

I already said no, and if you read my blog, I am not keeping Kinobi..in fact I known that for a long time.

Edit: I also didn't say anything along the lines of I was getting him. I called simply because I was curious and James and I wanted a Angora for Chewy.

Woah! Calm down :(. I was just trying to be a friend and maybe hope you realize that another young unaltered rabbit maybe isn't a good decision right now. Why would you not keep the HL, but yet get a female Angora? I'm not being mean...I am just concerned and wondering what your plan is because I know you want a male to bond to Chew.

I also wasn't aware you didn't want Sheriff back at all if he is able to be "fixed". I only mentioned the money part because I did read your blog where you stated you needed to purchased a lot of things for your current pets, but didn't really have the money to do so - so naturally my worry came that maybe you didn't have the money to help out with Sheriff's neuter or vet bills if he happens to need to go (since I am techinically just fostering/rehabing him for you).

ETA: I never said I didn't want to "deal with" Sheriff, so I don't understand where you got that from?

:dunno

I told you multiple times I would help pay for the nueter Amy, but I have already took him to checkups, so no I don't understand what other vet bills there would be. And if they did arise, I could in fact help.

I thought I told you I was scared to take Sheriff back and I didn't know if I could trust him. But I honestly don't know. As of now, I can't handle Sheriff and I can't keep him, but yes I part of me doesn't want to. The part that is literally bleeding.

I don't want the Holland Lop because I didnt chose him. I don't like Holland lops. I took him in because he needed it, but Chew (And I udnerstand she isn't fixed) doesn't like him. And she, unfixed, liked Pinball so I know. And sex doesn't matter, I just want to find her a partner.

I stated I needed to buy toys, and hay racks and yoru right, I don't have money to buy things that are really optional. Never did I say I couldn't afford my animals for the things they need.

But the fact is, nowhere did I state I was getting this rabbit.

I don't want to argue...so we can talk more about every little detail with Sheriff tomorrow, possibly, once "the air clears" because it seems a tad bit thick right now with misunderstanding :(.

This exchange should be in PM's.

I will say to Amy, you are coming off as very judgmental. The post was simply asking about a rabbit breed.

As discussed in the Sherrif thread, if Myia pays for the neuter (half now and the other half if an adopter or shelter doesn't cover the other half), and helps with the permanent rehoming if she doesn't want him back, there is absolutely nothing that can be said about her not meeting obligations.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with her taking on any new rabbit she chooses.

Please stop with the lectures. If you are friends, which is great because you're in the same neighborhood, friends help each other out of friendship, and they don't judge.

You made a great offer and its a great short term solution for Sheriff that will hopefully lead to a far easier longterm one. Its much appreciated by all, but please lighten up!

Further discussion needs to be in PMs or a separate thread, this on is about the bunny if the first post.

Thank you!

Thanks, Sas...but I think we've got it covered. I might sound like I'm being jugemental, but I assure you that is not my intentions - I'm being a concerned friend and I apologize about not speaking privately with Myia about all of these issues.
