Shya is barely two pounds and about two years old. Her fur is more satiny. She's very boney, angular, and petite. She looks all black but when she lays in the sunlight you can see brown patches in her. I was thinking maybe a Rex?

Kind of a side view

Awww she's so pretty! I love her ears!!!

Is it possible for a rex to have that type of fur though?
Hope somebody can help you with your question :)

I think you may be right about the satin mix. (didn't know satins existed) She doesn't meet the weight requirements and she has the longer ears but it explains the fur and feet. I feel bad now! I never thought of her as a good looking rabbit. Petite is all I can say to her. She really makes up in personality though.

I think maybe a Britannia Petite/satin?
Very inexpereinced person here, just went to ARBA and looked at the rabbit breedes to see if any matched...

I'd say definitely not a rex - or even a mini-rex.

What distinguishes a rex rabbit (or it's smaller cousin a mini-rex) is the rex fur. All rabbits have two types of fur, an undercoat and a set of guard hairs which are (except in rexes) much longer. The longer guard hairs lie down flat over the undercoat. That seems to be just what I see in the pictures you posted, especially the second one.

In rex fur the guard hairs and undercoat hairs are the same length, so the fur stands up and is plush like velvet. Once you've felt rex fur, you'll see there's nothing like it.

Also, the same mutation which produced rex fur also causes the whiskers to be short and kinky or curly, not at all the typical long whiskers you'll see on other rabbits. The whiskers in the second picture are definitely not rex whiskers.

For comparison, here's my Natasha, who has black fur much like your Shya, but who is a mini rex:

(Ignore the grey rabbit, Borders, who is of the "stuffed" breed)

Note the plush fur, and nearly no visible whiskers.

She looks like a Britannia Petite! The blacks are very slick looking with a flyback coat. Can often look like a satins coat but that's natural.

Here is one of the new Broken petites at the ARBA Convention. They just passed their second showing.

How is her disposition?

EDIT: After reading Shya's Bunny blog SHE IS MOST DEFINITELY A BRIT LOL
Brits are known for their awful temperament especially the girls. The boys I have owned have always been laid back and not as mean. I was breeding brits to try to get a better temperament but with my tans and college keeping me busy they weren't very high on my list of things. I have decided to keep my sweet boy rocky and maybe try again when i can find a girl that most compliments him that isn't so vicious. I really like the blacks but i have heard that their body type is very lacking compared to the other varieties. My boy rocky would fix that with his awesome type but i just don't have time for it right now. :(

Her disposition is insatiably curious, bossy, kinda mean, high metabolism. She isn't very skittish but rather bold.

If the rabbit rex fur is anything like the cat rex fur then no she's definitely not a Rex!
I'm her third owner and she was bred and born in Germany so there's no way to really know what she is.
She just has the dainty little feet and it doesn't seem that common on a lot of rabbits. But then again I'm brand new to the rabbit world too.

Thank you everyone for the input so far. I've learned about three different types of rabbits that I didn't even know existed.

i edited my other post. She really sounds like a brit. Keep us updated with how she turns out. I would love to change the idea of a brit being a horrible pet. How long have you had her?

lol I had edited my post then seen yours.

We've only had her four months (but it seems so much longer)
She hadn't been handled properly or been paid a lot of attention. She'll never be a lap rabbit but she's incredibly smart and will let you pet her on her own time. She will groom me and my husband and follows us around when we're cleaning house or working on projects.

She suffered a recent eye injury that required medicating three times a day. She wouldn't fall for bribes anymore but she would let us medicate her with pretty good grace. (only an occasional rabbit flick)

She chases the cats and will only occasionally box at the big dog when he gets to personal with her. However she will manipulate the big dog into a partner in crime when she needs one.

For being our first rabbit we really love her and would not consider her a bad pet. Ill tempered on occasion yes, but she's come a long way to what she was.

Kay wait, I was scrolling through the posts and learned I was almost correct! OMG, I'm a genius! Gorgeous bunny! I can't believ I was almost right!!!!
