Hello! As some of you may have read, Will adopted a bunny from the local shelter. We were just wondering which breed (or mix) she is. Any info would be appreciated. We think she's a dwarf "something". :)

- Her name is Sammi.
- Weight = 3 lbs. 5.6 oz.
- 5 years, 3 months old (according to the shelter).
- She was marked at the shelter as a "dwarf eared" rabbit. :twitch:

To me, her face looks like a mini-rex (without the mini-rex coat). She seems to long and not compact enough to be a Nethie. She doesn't have a super-fluffy coat or anything, it feels fairly coarse to me. Her underbody is white. Her hair looks like it could be a very light harlequin-pattern, but I think those are her molt lines. Just my observation... :D

What breed(s) do you think she is? What would you call her color? Thanks in advance!

Not sure of the breed--some Dwarf in the family going on the ears alone. She looks just like our Commander Bun-Bun. She was suppose to have been crossed between a mini something and a dwarf something--don't really know cause she was abandoned and rescued by us. We have pictures of her in the Tribute section of the Rainbow Bridge if you want to compare. She was a little more "well-rounded" though, at just under 5 pounds. Same colors--tan, white and grey with brown eyes and tons of attitude--sure do miss her. Good luck.

Breed- I have no idea. Definitely not a dwarf cross though, I can tell you that. I'd be more likely to say some kind of Polish cross, since she is small.

Her color looks to be fawn/cream to me.

I was thinking Britannia Petite, but I wasn't sure. She is just so lengthy! She weighs less than Toby, but is bigger. She's built very light and almost reminds me of a wild hare (body shape wise).

I don't really know what a Polish looks like. I look on Google, but since I don't know what they're "supposed" to look like, I don't know which pictures are Polishes and which aren't. :expressionless

I will get more pictures later.

What color is her fur called? It's a light, creamy color underneath (when you blow on it), then the color you see on top is on the longer hairs. The hairs have dark(er) tips.

Also, what is a flyback coat?

I think she might have B. Petite in her. This is how she stands when alert (not just snooping around). I don't think Polish buns stand like this on their tippy-toes, do they?

The color is fawn.

A flyback coat lays flatter and has more coarse flyback coat will snap back into position quickly, where the rollback coat rolls back luxuriously into position.
