They didn't have any info at the shelter, so I thought some of you more knowledgeable aficionados might know. :) I need to get some better pics, should have taken some when we just had him out and running around.

He has very soft short hair and weighs 4lbs.

Do you have an idea on weight? My first guess would be Californian, but I'm not a breed expert.
4lbs. I'm guessing he's fully grown since he's about a year and a half old. Those are 12" tiles he sitting on for a size reference.

Then nope. Is there a real gloss to the coat? Sounds like a pointed mini satin. He looks very similar to my little Cinderella (RIP). She was 4.5 pounds.

Oh, and if that is the case, the tips are heat sensitive. It's really neat to see. The dark tips would be much darker in the winter and lighter in the summer. Spring and fall she tended to have stripes. :)

You can see the stripes more in this one.

I thought mini satin too. Is her fur really glossy? That's signature for mini satins. I don't think himalayan because she doesn't look white? Her body looks more creamy tan to me with brownish points?

Depending on what she was eating at the rescue she may not have the gloss. I didn't realise it until I went back and looked at old pictures how much Cindi's fur changed over time. It was more normal bunny looking when she came home and over time got so pretty. The nutrition really makes a difference.

Like most of our rescues, not sure. We only have a couple pure strains--most are a mix of, who knows! Very cute and a good size. Serena is a pure Checkered Giant and is 18 pounds. She's as big as a boxcar, but is very active. Strange to see a bunny that large that runs and binkies.

That would be something to see an 18lb bunny binky! Cuddles has done several binkies for us, he gets some pretty good air.

Thanks for the input everyone, I guess we can call him a mini satin. Not terribly important, we like him no matter what he is. :)
