Hi, first of all sorry if this is in the wrong section, I'm knew here but I think this is thcorrect place to post this. I have had my rabbit for about 4 years and have never known what breed he is? Any suggestions?
Also, a friend of mine also has a rabbit and we have tried to let them play together although my one gets a little too "excited" even though the other rabbit is also a boy, how can I stop this behavior?

Sorry the pics aren't perfect, they are of when I first got him (his cage is much bigger and better now!)

humping is often used as a dominance display and can be done by bunnies of either gender even when both are fixed.

honestly, rabbits just don't do the whole "casual friends" thing. in order for them to play together, they have to be carefully bonded (which is almost always impossible to do unless BOTH are fixed) and after that, they need to be together full time in order to maintain the bond.

Do you know how much he weighs? With that big blocky buck head I want to say Broken New Zealand but he's a hard one

Looking at the longer coat, I'm thinking not New Zealand. Also keep in mind that the poster is from Australia, making breed ID a little more difficult since we're not familiar with common breeds there.

I'm thinking the rabbit is a mix.

Could veyr well be a broken new zealand, I had some of my broken NZ's throwing a longer less desirable coat and they were like that. but he looks small
Good ole mutt bunny
