So, some of you may know of our new addition, the giant Dotty. All we know so far is that she's big lol! I'm guessing between 10-15lbs, but that's a complete guess. I'll weigh her later and get the accurate weight, but for now here's a couple of pics....

Any ideas guys? They had her down as a Flemish, but I don't know if she's big enough? She's 6-7 months old so probably not fully grown yet... I had thought giant papillon just from looking at a couple of pics but I don't know anything about the breed... Someone suggested checkered giant?

Any input would be great! Thanks! :D

Really? You think she is?!

OMG! :biggrin2:

I'd seen this link and thought that she looked kind of similar....

What sort of weight is average for them do you know? I had a look at the table of weight/points in that BRC link, but I didn't really understand it lol!

I think in my searching I just stumbled on a link to the Bradford show lol! I'm looking for pics....

I didn't know until earlier that a Checkered Giant and a Giant Papillon are the same thing apparently?! Checkered Giant being the US name....

She is 12.6lbs! Or 5kg for UK people....

Here is a pic of me holding her to show the size better....

:)

if you were showing her the bigger the weight the more points she would get Jen so she will or could get up to 13.4 lbs in weight which sounds about right with her age/weight etc just now :biggrin2:eek:r maybe a bit more if she has been getting overfed lol!!

WIth Sully (even tho he will only get to around 10lbs) i try not to give him to many pellets and def. more hay as he is prone to squidey poop also I was told with bevs that they are prone to coccidosis not sure if other big breeds are the same or not

She's probably a mismarked Checkered Giant. Doesn't look like the ones that are seen over here in the US. The Giant Papillon looks more like her, and they just obv. have different markings than that of the Checkered.

Oh cool, you have a new bunny. Congratulation!!! Did you introduce her in some other thread?

Found the thread! Well, and now you have an excuse to buy another one as a friend for Dotty:biggrin2:

YAY! I think I got it right - Checkered Giant/Papillon!

She's so gorgeous! I think I'd be kissing her nose a lot - it's so cute!

Yay!

:highfive:

That nose is so cute! And there's lots to kiss since it's so big lol! :p

Polly, I forgot to mention it last post but thanks for all that info!

Steve read that the giant breeds are prone to coccidosis as well.... We're going to start switching her over to Oxbow BBT soon to hopefully improve her poos...

And thanks for explaining the sizing stuff! That kind of helps a lot as we're looking at carriers right now. We want to get one big enough with room to grow so we don't have to replace it.... That's going to be one big carrier! :p
