I need help identifying the breed of my bun Blue. He was sold to us as a lionhead along with Leo who is definitely a x with a lop. Thing is everyone who sees him says he looks more like a Angora and after looking at the pics of the 2 Angoras in the thread rabbits at Tanana Valley State Fair, he does look the mirror image of the one on the left!
Here's some pics of him:

Looks to me like a teddy-style lionhead. Love those teddies too - even if they really shed a ton when they molt.

I'd agree he's a lionhead. In fact,I have one that could pass as his brother. DId he shed out his fur down the middle of his back? (i.e., is it shorter?) It's hard to tell in the pic.

nope to be honest he doesn't shed a lot his fur is shorter on the back and grows longer down the sides. It's kinda funny because my mini lop Fiver is shedding like crazy right now but Blue never seems to really shed.

Lionheads tend to develop as big fuzz balls and then will shed out that center fur that you described as shorter along his back. That fur pattern with the shorter hair on the back and the skirt of longer hair is typical of a lionhead. His fur is a bit longer on his face than some lionheads, but I think it's because he has some teddybear style in him, like Peg suggested. I really don't see any Angora in him...I think he's probably from a breeding of two lionheads.

Oh yeah. Many of them will start with no hair at birth, then just grow hair everywhere. They'll be big fluff balls until they shed out that shorter hair on their backs and face. Teddys don't shed as much off their face as the others do, so that's why your guy looks a bit fluffier there than most. His hair looks crimped rather than straight, so that's a good sign his mane will stay. Sometimes the straight hairs will be lost, so having crimped hair is a good thing in lionheads. :)

I would have guessed either a blue or a squirrel. My blues tend to be a bit more "blue" than gray, but that is a genetic thing. Blue looks like my squirrel Gizzy, but that could just be the coloring in the picture.
