Okay, so I got this little bunny a few days back, and the people who sold him to me didn't know the exact breed. I'm new to rabbit owning and I was just curious about his breed. He's small at the moment, only about the size of my hand (I'm fairly young, but I have fairly large hands for a girl XP) but his parent were large. I also wanted to know the breed do I can expect about how big he'll get. So, here are some pictures of him;

1,2,3,4,5,6

Also, I'm having one problem with him. He won't eat his pellets (It's not all he gets, trust me, we feed fruits and veggies, and he gets hay and grass) When I try to put them in the cage he knocks them over and pushes them out of the container. Is it because he doesn't like them, is he being defiant, or is it because he's not hungry? (He's done it twice now) I know this probably isn't the right place for this question, but I figured I'd go ahead and post it.

Hi looks very cobby bodied like a dwarf mix. However, it's much easier to guess at the breed when the bunny reaches maturity.

What a cute little fuzzy rabbit! He's too young for me to even guess seeing as I'm not a babies person, but I'm sure somebody will be along shortly to make a good guess. :)

As long as he's getting a lot of hay, grass and veggies (a lot of hay and grass, but go easy on the fruit), he can do without the pellets, but it could be that he's just not used to them or he doesn't like that brand.

What were his breeders feeding him? He should have any sudden changes.

What brand of pellets are you giving him now?

Hi, I don't know about breed sorry but your baby is very cute!

More experienced breeders etc will surely come by and offer some suggestions. What they will probably want to know is age and weight, I have seen enough similar threads to know that that helps. So you could get in ahead and give that information if you can :)

Again, I'm not really experienced with this but in regards to the pellets, my first thought is are you offering a different kind of pellets to those he was eating before you got him? What is recommended is sticking to the same pellets for a bit, and then slowly introducing more and more of the new pellet and eventually you're left with only the new pellet. This means the baby and digestive system can get used to it I think. Also because he is young maybe he hasn't eaten pellets before? I'm not sure what else to suggest, but if you wait a bit longer I'm sure other people will reply!

Ambrosius is very cute indeed. I am curious about the name, where did it come from?

If you saw his parents, that will give you a pretty good idea of what size he will be when grown. As far as a breed, it's really hard to tell at such a young age. (How old is he?)

Regarding his pellets, as others have mentioned, you should find out what he was eating at the breeders, and try to keep him on the same pellets for a little while. It helps with his digestion. I'd severely limit (or eliminate)the fruit right now. He's so young, if he gets diarrhea at this age, it can be fatal.

some kind of satin/mini rex/dutch type mix? it's got the bigger head and ears . . .
Due to the very fluffy coat, I think we can rule out a mix of this type. More likely a rollback or angora coat breed in the background such as Holland Lop orNetherland Dwarf.
