Well, today I was out in the yard watering mycotton plants. When I was walking back to inside - OUCH!!!!Some thing stung the hell out of my foot!! Of course when I stay homeI'm allways bare footed even in - the back yard.
But it hurt soooooooo bad!! I mean, the only pest that would bite orsting in my yard are bumble bees, honey bees, and wasp. Wasp don't hurtas much cause they bite - they don't sting. Honey bees and Bumble Beeswould hurt worser but not that bad. I mean, when I was a little kid Iwould cry and scream if I got stung or bitten - but I'm 19 years old. Iwouldn't think it would hurt as much(Just like getting a shot at theDoctor.).
But YES!! It hurt!! But what was it?!
The worse part was that all of a sudden, my foot was numb and wouldn'tmove. Then the numbness ran up to my ankle(Foot ankle.). I fell, andhad to crawl my way to inside my house, as my foot was it terriblepain. I finally got inside and lifted my foot to see what was it from.I saw it - looked like the stinger of a bee. As I whent to get a pair atweezers, I whent into a cold sweat. I felt like crying. Finally I gotthe tweezers and pulled the little nipper out and put a bandaid on the"boo boo" - which was actually bleeding.
It still hurts alittle when I walk.

I mean in the past, I've been stung by bees - but I have nevered had these symptoms.

Any one know what it was?

Wasps sting, they have stingers, and they hurt worse than bees in my opinion.

But, what part of the country do you live in, that makes a difference. It may have been a speices of ant there are some nasty ones that livein America in the south and the west. I was oncestung by onein Utah that made my leg feel as if it was on fire! If you live in thenorth then you could just have had a slight allergic reaction to a beeor yellowjacket sting.

I got stung a few years ago by what probably wasa wasp of some sort. It hurt so bad I had to stop golfing andmy entire back of my leg swelled up and it took about a week for it togo down. Veyr very painful.

Unlike bees, wasps have no barb on the end oftheir stinger, so they are able to sting, pull the stinger out, andsting again... and again... and again, so running into just oneirratated wasp is a very painful experience!

I found out that it was a honey bee by the describtrion of the sting spot my paramedic told me.
I found out I'm illergic to bees now.
Yesterday, a huge red lump formed on my foot.
Today the effects are finally taking controll of me. Throwing up, eye rolling, dizziness, and light headed.
I got some meds and ointment, though.

Thanx for the help any ways guys!!

Yikes! That is scary. To find out that you are allergic to bees after you got stung.
Get plenty of rest and drink lots of water.

Rainbows! :sickbunny:

Eek. It's so scary to find out your allergic to something.. When I was three I found out I was allergic to nuts/treet nuts and it was so frightening!

Have you taken any Benadryl? That might help.

You can just develop an allergy for no apparent reason, even though you've been fine with it for years. I think that usually it's due to being exposed to it too often, your body goes into overdrive. I developed an allergy to asprin 2 years ago and if I take it my face swells like a frog (gorgeous!!)

Be careful because it might get worse everytime you are exposed in future. (if it's really bad you might have to carry an adrenaline shot with you just in case!)

Hope your foot feels better
