Macy is obsessed with them... every time she gets fresh hay she picks them out! she gets Timothy hay that she is constantly munching so it's not that she doesn't like the rest she just loves these. I've started picking them out and using them as "treats". it's awesome; I can satisfy my urge to give her tons of treats for being adorable and she won't get sick or fat etc!
what are they called? and am I able to buy just a bag of them?
thanks!

If you are finding them in your timothy hay, they are just the seed heads. Any grass will develop seeds when allowed to mature. They actually could end up being fattening and even unhealthy for buns, if that is all they ate, as they are seeds and so contain fats and carbs. Unfortunately the only way to get them is to buy the rest of the hay :)

very interesting! good to know they can be fattening! I'll stick to only giving her what's in her daily hay :)

My Faye also always eats the seed heads first. It's tied with bananas and simethicone drops as her favorite (not that I give her drops all the time) :nod
