Tony and I were out getting bunny krunchems(rabbit food) when we ran across this little black loppygirl. She is so small she fits comfortably in the palm of myhand. She has one ear that refuses to lay down like a properyoung loppy lady's should;)...but she is still young. Tonywas holding her and she stretched out across his arm and started topurr. But she kept her one up ear facing him justincase!

Now you have to understand my big gruff Italian husband is every bit asbad as me when it comes to bunnies. And since our first bunnywe haven't bought petstore bunnies(except for our 2 girls and theyneeded rescued) we decided we were only adoptingbunnies. He is holding her and snuggling her and then getsmad because I LET him hold her!:D He calls itbunny Kryptonite!:D So here we are with a baby girl namedDaphne, who is coming home on Sunday. The store is holdingher since I have some volunteer stuff for OREO to do tomorrow night andSaturday we are moving a friend. It's not nice to bring herhome and drop her and then be in and out for 2 days.:D

:shock:So for the first time in over 3 years I am desperately makingbaby bunny lists; alfalfa hay, pellets, new water bottle, dishes, litter pan, smaller blankies, some little toys, more zip ties for arun. My god! The list is endless! I amactually freaking out that I am going to forgetsomething!

That is wonderful news!! So what is the count now..I cant remember, 8?

Okay, I was exaggerating ;)I just checked and you have 5,soon to be 6, right? Your husband sounds like such a great guy. Im soexcited for you both :D

Sometimes getting from a store IS rescuing/adopting a bunny.

Congrats - she sounds like a cutie..

Peg

GG Haley! Tonywould kill me!:DWe only have 6!;) Tony is over themoon about her! Her one ear stands straight up and the otherlops! And she has such a grumpy face! (I always goto check up on the bunnies when we are out getting supplies.)The girl we talked to tonight works for Rabbit Rescue...(she is workingat their booth at the All About Pets Show in April!) We were looking atthe babies they had just gotten in and when we held her(the bunny, notthe girl!;))it was like something clicked. EvenTony who tries to be the "tough" one folded like wet paper!:DShe is an angel..calm, dainty and very relaxed!:inlove: Wehave decide to try to bond Leo and Dandi since they seem to get alongpretty well together. And when she gets a little size on herwe can mix her in too. So we would have 2 bonded triosinstead. I would hate to lose my mommas boy(Dandi)...but helooks so sad all alone right now! I'd rather he was happy!:D

Tiny's mom-I like to look at it as rescuing too. Andour girls really were, the poor babies were so sick! Don'tworry! I am still saving room for a LionLop! Assoon as I find a breeder around here I'm done for! ;):D

Good thing Tony and I aren't having kids!:DI'd have to put them in the carport cause the bunnies have the guestroom! ;)

I know someone in maine who has had a fewlionlops. I don't konw if they raise them any more. It's not close to Ontario but closer then most states. If youare interested let me know. I think they ship and I know theygo to shows. So, could arrange something if you really want alionlop. Just a thought.

HoneySuckle-You are sooooevil!:D I've always worried if shipping bunnies wassafe? If they were coming to a show in Ontario or somewherecloser that might not be so bad...we are about 4 hours from the borderwhere we live...It would be something to think about though!I reallly love LionLops!:D I had toget hubby to drive 6 1/2 hours to pick up our Leo...I don'tthink he really appreciated it that much!;)

Do they have a website with pics of their bunns? Or an email addy where I could get info?

We couldn't wait till Sunday...poor baby's earsand back are all scratched up....they added more piggies to thecage. There were 15 guinea pigs and 3 rabbits on one 24 x 18enclosed cage.(She is smaller than the piggies!) It had plexidoors too and no vents the air was sowet she was damp to thetouch. I freaked out on them a little and the girladmitted it was too damp. I'll have to check againtomorrow to see if they fixed it. But Daphne is home andpurring like a champ! She nugged all over Tony and wentstraight to the litterbox and started to munch on hay!:D Ifeel better now! I was half afraid I'd find her gone bySunday.:D:D:D

Pics tomorrow night...I have to be up at 3:00am we are moving a frindwho lives out of town! Ouch! That is going to HURTin the morning!

I'm so happy you got her and she sounds happy to be rescued from that situation.

Make sure to share pics soon!

Peg

Those conditions sound awful, thank goodness you rescued the poor little thing! I can't wait to see pics!

I have pics...the little darling likes tomug...if she is in daddies arms...other than that we chew thecamera! I will post tomorrw! for def sure!

BTW- it is our tradition to give all our kids 3 names...( Tony wantedto name our first bunn, so did the neice and I wasn't about to be leftout...so 3 names!) So Daphnes full name isofficially...Daphne Sassybottoms Butterchunk (the Butter partbeing an Homage to our first bunn Butters...who Daphne def reminds usof!):D

She purrs non-stop, loves to give kissies, jumps up to sleep on ourlap...oh my! I am getting what love I can before puberty setsin! lol ;)

Awwwwww !!!! Welcome home, Daphne!!! :D:D:D

Yes, I agree with Peg...you definitely rescued this little cutie pie...and good for you for doing it!! :D

I can't wait to see pictures!!

Oh, and don't worry about shipping/flying bunnies...Trixie made it herefrom New York just fine. Here's a thread on the wholeexperience, if you wanted to take a look at it. I'll also beshipping/flying a bunny (that I named Daisy) from Peg a while from now(she needs weaning, and Peg's offered to spay her on her side becauseit's less expensive).

OK as promised the pics of Daphne!:DLet me tell you these were hard to get...she seems to believe that thebunny question needs to have it's nose in the camera lense forthe best possible pic! We have loads of nostril shots!;)

It's official...Daphne is daddy'sgirl. She wants nothing to do with momma. She hasbeen grooming Tony non-stop. Everytime he leaves the room andcomes back she has to start grooming him again! She curls upin his arms and purrs like a little motor! And daddy is atotal mush pie! He says she reminds him of our first littlegirl who went to the bridge in 2005. He is her willingservant. SHE got fed tonight before I did!:? lol
