Ok, so I have not weighed Dori, LOL I haven't been able to even hold her long enough. But when I adopted her a couple weeks back, on her kennel card it mentioned when she came in back in May, that she was slightly overweight. I know she is a Silver Marten and she is about 9 months old. So from that information, how would I know if she was too heavy? What is the average weight of a Silver Marten?

The Silver Martin can be between 6.5 and 8.5 lbs. They are a larger rabbit. At 9 months she should be, pretty much, full grown.

It can be difficult to judge by weight alone. try feeling her ribs. if there is a fatty layer (you have to feel hard for the ribs) she probably is carring a little extra. If you can feel the ribs easly she should be ok. Because they can be 6.5 - 8.5 pounds, weight can be hard to judge fitness so dont rely entirely on her wieght. A rabbit savvy vet should be able to tell you for sure if she is overweight.
